South Korea World Cup Betting OddsFIFA World Cup Betting: South Korea really made its mark on the international stage in soccer when they took care of a number of opponents on their home fields in 2002. However, not much is expected out of the Taegeuk Warriors this year as they attempt to make some history and become the first Asian team to beat the World Cup odds and capture soccer's greatest prize.

This is the seventh straight World Cup that the Koreans have qualified for, though their effort to reach this stage this year isn't exactly one to write home about. Scoring goals was at a premium at best for South Korea, as it only found the back of the net 22 times in qualifying.

M Park Ji-Sung will play a lot of midfield as well as striker for the Koreans in the World Cup. He is clearly the star of the Taegeuk Warriors, as he has been one of the faces of the Manchester United franchise since 2005. Ji-Sung has scored 12 goals in 86 appearances for his country, including scoring once in the 2002 World Cup and once in 2006.

Unless you believe in miracles, don't expect to see much out of South Korea in World Cup betting action this year. This is a team that was solid in Asian qualifying, but just hasn't faced a team at the level of which it will face, particularly against Argentina in the group stages. This is a +20000 longshot to win it all and is considered a 3-1 choice just to advance out of the first round of the tournament.
