Honduras World Cup Betting OddsFIFA World Cup Betting: For just the second time in the history of the country, Honduras will be taking part in World Cup betting action in South Africa this summer. This will be the first taste of soccer's grandest stage for anyone playing on this roster though, as over half of the team wasn't even alive yet when the Hondurans last made the World Cup in 1982.

It took a lot of help from the United States, but a 1-0 win in El Salvador on the final day of qualifying set up a dramatic draw that the Stars and Stripes picked up in Costa Rica that assured that Honduras wouldn't need a playoff to make it to the World Cup. There were certainly some sticky moments for Honduras in qualification, but most notably, a 3-1 win over CONCACAF's behemoth, Mexico was a win for the ages in this country.

At the age of 36, F Carlos Pavon is going to be one of the oldest players in this tournament, but that doesn't mean that he still isn't lethal. He scored seven goals in qualifying this year, including the lone strike in the victory over El Salvador. Pavon has 57 goals in his career for his country, and he can become even more of an icon in he can lead Honduras into the second round of the World Cup for the first time this year.

The World Cup odds are definitely long on this team for good reason, though. There is virtually zero chance to win Spain's Group H, so fighting with Switzerland and Chile for the final qualifying spot for the knockout round will be difficult. Even if the Hondurans do get past that hump, most like, the Brazilians await. There's a reason that they are +75000 World Cup betting underdogs.
