MLS Soccer Betting Lines: The MLS betting campaign began over the course of the summer, as 16 teams fight it out to claim the coveted MLS Cup. The top two teams in each conference plus four wild card squads will make it to the postseason. Squads play home and home series under European rules.
The teams will play two 90 minute games, one in each stadium. If after 180 minutes of play, the teams have the same number of goals, the first tiebreaker will be the quantity of away goals scored by a team. For example, if Team A ties 1-1 at home and ties 2-2 on the road, it will advance because it scored more goals as the away team.
In the event that the exact same score line is achieved both home and away, the teams will advance to a 30 minute extra time period played immediately following the second leg of the playoff. Beyond that, if the match is still level, penalty kicks will determine the team that advances.
This continues for two knockout rounds until the MLS Cup itself. In the championship game, it is winner take all in 90 minutes. Overtime rules apply for a draw, as 30 minutes will be played of extra time. Again, a penalty shootout will determine the championship if a winner isn't determined in the extra 30 minutes.
Betting on the MLS is just like wagering on any other soccer match. If you've been paying attention to 2010 World Cup betting action, this should be a cinch for you.
There are two types of bets you can make on the average soccer match. The first is called the Asian handicap. Think of an Asian handicap as if it were a pointspread. If Team A is - 0.5 goals, figure that the score of the game starts off with Team B ahead by a half goal.
The other bet you can make is on the three-way line. In a three way line, you can bet on the home team to win the match outright, the road team to win it outright, or the draw. Always be careful with these bets, though! If you bet on Team A to win on the three-way line and the match ends in a draw, your bet loses!
The defending champions of the MLS Cup are Real Salt Lake. They defeated the Los Angeles Galaxy on penalty kicks last year to win the championship. The Galaxy are the team that brought M David Beckham to the MLS, and they also are the squad that M Landon Donovan plays for domestically.
Though they have fallen upon hard times, DC United are the team that have the most championships in this league. They won three of the first four titles, then captured their fourth MLS Cup in 2004. The Houston Dynamo, Los Angeles Galaxy, and San Jose Earthquakes both have one championship, while the Chicago Fire, Kansas City Wizards, and Columbus Crew are the other championship holds in this league's history.

International Soccer Leagues
German Bundesliga
The Bundesliga is the professional soccer league in Germany and it's perhaps amongst the top five football leagues in the world. The league's season starts in early August and lastas until the end of May, with a 6 week winter break.
English Premier League
It's the most watched league in the world and the most lucrative, attracting top players from all over the planet. It's hard to believe that the Premier League kicked off rather recently, on 15th August 1992.
Italian Serie A
Last season AC Milan won their first Scudetto since 2003-2004 in a season full of twists and turns. Inter Milan failed to recreate their dominant form which saw them win six Series A titles in succession, and had to settle as runners-up.
Spanish La Liga
La Liga is considered one of the best leagues in the world as it is graced by some of the world's best players, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. La Liga certainly offers some the most interesting Football Betting options, with the odds, as always, dominated by Barcelona and Real Madrid.
