Arena: Pocono Raceway.
Location: Long Pound, Pennsylvania.
Date: June 10, 2012
NASCAR Betting Online: The Gillette Fusion ProGlide 500 is the first of two stock car races held at the Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. This NASCAR Sprint Cup event is scheduled in mid-June, the other being the Pennsylvania 500, which is usually held in July. The Pocono 500 replaced a 400-mile race at Texas World Speedway on NASCAR's schedule beginning with the 1982 season. It was moved to the former USAC Marlboro Championship Trail date in June, displacing the Indy cars to August. Pocono Raceway is recognized as one of NASCAR's most competitive raceways. The track features three curves, each with its own degree of banking. The track design produces fender-to-fender action and 200 mph photo finishes.
Pocono 500 Track Records One of the records set at a Pocono 500 race was for the most caution flags (13) in 1990. The 1985 Pocono 500 saw the least amount of lead drivers, with 4. The 1990 Pocono 500 saw the greatest amount of lead drivers with 16. Bobby Allison held the most Pocono 500 victories in a row with his third in 1982; that record was then broken in 1987 by Tim Richmond. Race of Champions From 1977 to 1991, Pocono Raceway hosted the Race of Champions Modified race. From 1977 to 1979, the race was held on the 2.5-mile triangular superspeedway; from 1980 onward, the three-quarter-mile infield oval was used. Richie Evans and George Kent were the leading winners, each winning two of the fifteen RoC events at Pocono. In 1992, the Race of Champions was moved to Flemington Raceway.

2011 Pocono 500 Winner - Hendrick Motorsports Shines As Stewart-Haas Struggles
Hendrick Motorsports once again had a strong showing Sunday at Pocono Raceway, putting three cars in the top 10 at the time of the checkered flag. Jeff Gordon led the way for the Hendrick team, scoring the win Sunday over Kurt and Kyle Busch. Gordon had to fend off a late charge by teammate Jimmie Johnson to secure the victory.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. had yet another solid day in the No. 88 Chevrolet, finishing the day in sixth. Mark Martin once again struggled to keep pace with his three teammates, at one point earning the free pass.
For the third consecutive week, Penske Racing showed a marked improvement. Kurt Busch scored the team’s third consecutive pole Saturday afternoon and led 37 laps en route to his second place finish. Brad Keselowski was unable to back up last week’s win, finishing in the 23rd spot. Despite Keselowski’s mediocre day, the Penkse cars once again proved they are on the right track, with Busch taking the pole in a backup car and contending for the win much of the afternoon.
2010 Winner
This was yet another exciting race to watch like on the past years. The 200 lap race itself was delayed due to maintenance issues because of a pothole patching and the rain as well.
The winner of the 2010 Pocono Raceway was #11 Denny Hamlin. This was a great win from Denny Hamlin. This was the fourth time Hamlin has won at Pocono and the sixth time he's finished in the top 10.
Mr. James Hamlin was born in Chesterfield, Virginia in November of 1980. Hamlin's racing career began in 1988 when he was just 7. His Nascar career began in 2004 when he competed in five.
