NASCAR Betting Online: Goody's has a long and faithful history of sponsoring automobile racing events and teams, especially NASCAR and the Goody's Fast Pain Relief 500, held each year at Martinsville Speedway. The race has been run under a few other names since its inception in 1949, but has included the Goody's name in the title from 1996 to 2000, and then again from the 2007 event to the present.
The Goody's Fast Relief 500 will have a full field of Sprint Cup regulars, including several NASCAR Series drivers who are fighting for the title. Here at Martinsville Speedway, it's very hard to determine who will be the winner. Previous races have proven that in those final laps and tight turns anything can happen.
The Goody's Fast Pain Relief 500 is a 500-lap. Two races were run in 1961 when the first spring race was rained out before the halfway point and declared complete.
Martinsville Speedway is an International Speedway located in Rideway, Virginia. At 0.526 miles (0.847 km) in length, it is the shortest track in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The track was also one of the first paved oval tracksin NASCAR.
This race will be full of twists and turns and the closer the race gets to lap 500 the lead will have changed numerous times. You'll be on the edge of your seat waiting to see who will be named "Champion".
Join in the excitement as The Martinsville Speedway plays host to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Goody's Fast Relief 500. Goody's, a long time race sponsor, has a reputation for putting on one of the best races on the circuit.
History
The first NASCAR sanctioned event was held on July 4, 1948. In 1951, only 4 cars were running at the finish, the fewest of any race held at the speedway. In 1960, Richard Petty became the youngest winner at Martinsville, at 22 years, 283 days; to date Petty has the most wins (15). In 1991, Harry became the oldest winner at 51 years, 255 days. It was Gant's fourth win in a row, earning him the nickname Mr. September.
In Martinsville Speedway rained all weekend also on Friday's qualifying that's why Sunday race scheduled was pushed to Monday afternoon. All the people and fans that were able to stay saw an exiting finish. The 2010 Goody's Fast Relief 500 was won by Denny Hamlin who raced from ninth to the win in four laps to claim the thophy.
2012 Goody's Fast Relief 500 Winner - Ryan Newman Wins Goody’s Fast Relief 500 NASCAR Cup Race at Martinsville
In the wake of a controversial late-race caution, Ryan Newman spoiled an afternoon of Hendrick hegemony with an opportunistic victory in the Goody’s Fast Relief 500 Sunday at Martinsville Speedway.
After Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson dominated the action for 497 laps, an untimely caution flag flew on Lap 497 and sent the race to overtime, after David Reutimann stalled on the frontstretch.
Gordon and Johnson stayed out on old tires as the lead-lap cars behind them came to the pits for tires and fuel. On the restart on Lap 504, Clint Bowyer took Johnson and Gordon three-wide into the first corner, and all three cars spun, ruining a potential 200th victory party for Hendrick Motorsports.
After the dust settled, Newman cleared runner-up AJ Allmendinger on the second lap of a green-white-checkered restart and held on to win by .342 seconds. Dale Earnhardt Jr. ran third, followed by Matt Kenseth and Martin Truex Jr.
2011 Winner - Kevin Harvick Wins Goody's Fast Relief 500
For the second week in a row, Kevin Harvick took Richard Childress Racing's No. 29 Chevrolet to victory lane for his first win at a track in thrilling fashion. Last week he passed Jimmie Johnson in the final corner to win at Auto Club Speedway. Today, he passed Dale Earnhardt Jr. with three laps remaining and pulled away to his sixteenth win and his first short-track triumph since Richmond in September of 2006.
Earnhardt Jr, trying to break a 98-race winless streak, used the bumper on Kyle Busch to take the lead with less than 20 laps remaining but was unable to hold off Harvick's charge. Busch pulled alongside him on the final lap, with Earnhardt winning the drag race for second place. Busch led a race high 151 laps and took the point lead with his third-place result.
