Crown Royal Richmond 400 Betting OddsNASCAR Betting Odds: Now named as The Matthew and Daniel Hansen 400 because Crown Royal has a contest which offers one lucky winner a chance to name the race after "The Crown Royal". It is called "Presents the Your Name Here 400".

This new name race method has been happening since 2007 by race sponsor Crown Royal, they created an essay contest during Daytona Speedweeks in order to select the name.

The Crown Royal 400 is a NASCAR Sprint Cup stock car race held at the Richmond International Raceway in Richmond, Virginia.

For several years prior, it was held as a daytime race event, the weekend following the Daytona 500 in February. Then the lights were installed, but the race remained during the day.

The cold weather, even snow delay in 1989 forced the race to take place in early spring. Now this race is finally placed at May, since 1999.

The first time this race was aired in network television happened in 2007 for Fox.

2012 Capital City 400 Winner - Kyle Busch takes Capital City 400

NASCAR came to Richmond looking for a burst of racing excitement that hadn’t been seen in the last few weeks. The on-track action didn’t provide that, but the rulebook did as Kyle Busch rolled into the winner’s circle by surviving the Capital City 400.

Five caution flags included three that weren’t for wrecks, but those provided the thrilling restarts that racing fans have been missing recently. It came down to a late restart battle between Tony Stewart and Busch, with Busch winning the top spot from Stewart after a better pit stop.

The pits weren’t as kind to Jimmie Johnson, who went in as the leader when a caution flag was thrown on lap 310. His pit crew had been feuding all night with neighbor Paul Menard’s crew, and the neighbors were happy to point out to a NASCAR official when a member of Johnson’s pit crew didn’t properly take a tire back into the pits.

Sent to the back, Stewart became the race leader. That fact wasn’t relayed to Carl Edwards, who was told by a spotter that he was the leader. He restarted first, drawing a black-flag penalty from NASCAR. He also appeared to start behind the line where acceleration is allowed.

2011 Winner - Busch Wins Crown Royal Presents The Matthew & Daniel Hansen 400

Kyle Busch had just enough fuel to hold off teammate Denny Hamlin, winning his third consecutive Spring NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Richmond International Raceway.

Busch, who needed a push to Gatorade Victory Lane after running out of fuel following his burnout, picked up his 21st career Cup win and eighth of the season in NASCAR's top three series.

Hamlin, who notched his best finish of the season, was looking to go 3-for-3 on the weekend in his hometown, having already won the Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown on Thursday and the BUBBA Burger 250 on Friday.

2010 Winner

Kyle Busch is the 2010 Crown Royal Richmond 400 winner and that happened when he got past Jeff Gordon on a late restart to win the Heath Calhoun 400 at Richmond Saturday night.

Mr Busch passed Gordon on a Lap 396 restart and held on for his first victory of the season and his second consecutive in the annual spring trip to RIR by NASCAR's premier series.

Kyle dominated early, leading the first 150 laps and 221 of the first 229 laps, but gave way to Jeff Burton. Burton quickly gave way to Gordon, who led 144 late laps and was cruising to victory until a trio of late cautions.

Busch, who was fastest in the final practice earlier Friday afternoon, turned a lap of 127.077 mph to win his first pole of the season.
