NASCAR Betting Odds: In 2010, for the first time in the history of this race, the night race at Bristol Motor Speedway was referred to as the Irwin Tools Night Race. The one mile oval at Bristol is known as one of the most exciting tracks for racing, particularly at night. From the days that it was referred to as the Bud 500 and the Goody's Headache Powder 500, the night race at Bristol was always considered one of the most anticipated duels of the entire NASCAR betting season.
This race has been known as the Sharpie 500 since 2001, but will change names once again this year.
Last season, Kyle Busch took the checkered flag on the high banks in Tennessee, but it wasn't a convincing speed that he pulled it off at. The average speed of 80.240 MPH was the slowest night race at Bristol since Busch won this race in 2003.
Busch continued a trend of multiple time winners in recent seasons. This August, he'll hope to become the third straight back-to-back winner. Carl Edwards won in both 2007 and 2008, while Matt Kenseth won in both 2005 and 2006. Busch was booed following his 2003 victory at Bristol Motor Speedway and will hope for a better reception should he be in Victory Lane this year.
Chevrolets and Fords have absolutely dominated the manufacturer’s victories. Currently, Chevys lead the way with 20 wins here at Bristol, while Fords have accounted for 17. Busch's Toyota in '09 became the first of probably many for the new kids on the block in NASCAR.
Back-to-back winners of this race are nothing new. Fred Lorenzen became the first back-to-back winner of the race then known as the Volunteer 500 when he captured the checkered flag in 1963 and 1964. David Pearson, Cale Yarborough, Darrell Waltrip, and Dale Earnhardt Sr. have all won back-to-back races here at Bristol. Yarborough and Waltrip have each won three straight night races.
The biggest prize in this race's history was back in 2005 when Kenseth captured a $360,536 prize. Since then, the reward has dropped to the $340Ks.
The top speed ever recorded in the caution-happy Bristol night race was 101.074 in 1971. It was the only time that the 100 MPH barrier was ever topped.
The night race at Bristol should have plenty of thrills and spills once again this year. Be sure to get in on all of the great NASCAR betting action at the Irwin Tools Night Race at Bookmaker.eu.

2011 Irwin Tools Night Race Winner - Brad Keselowski Wins Irwin Night Race At Bristol
Brad Keselowski's hot streak got hotter Saturday night, as he won the Irwin Tools Night Race at the Bristol Motor Speedway, his third win in 2011 and the fourth of his career. Keselowski has now finished third or better in his last four races and set himself up as one of the likeliest threats to Jimmie Johnson's championship reign with just two races remaining till the Chase.
Martin Truex Jr. finished second by inches over Jeff Gordon, who dominated for much of the race by leading 206 laps. Johnson finished fourth, while Jamie McMurray had perhaps his best race all year in finishing fifth. Matt Kenseth finished sixth after having perhaps the second-best car to Gordon most of the night. Denny Hamlin, polesitter Ryan Newman, Carl Edwards, and Marcos Ambrose rounded out the top-10.
Kyle Busch, the pre-race favorite thanks to his recent history at Bristol, led only four laps and finished a disappointing 13th. He was seeking his third-consecutive win in the Irwin Tools Night Race and his third overall win at the track.
2010 Irwin Tools Night Race Results
Check off a major accomplishment from Kyle Busch’s bucket list.
Busch fended off strong challenges from David Reutimann and Jamie McMurray to win Saturday’s Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway and complete his unprecedented sweep of three NASCAR national touring events at the same track in the same week.
On Lap 429 of 500, Busch nosed past Reutimann after an intense 15-lap battle and pulled away to a Cup Series victory that fit quite nicely with his win Wednesday in the Truck Series and his triumph Friday in the Nationwide Series.
