Bristol Food City 500 Betting OddsNASCAR Betting Odds: Each year, the Food City 500 provides Tennessee with a taste of NASCAR action when the annual race invades Bristol Motor Speedway as part of the Sprint Cup Series schedule. The Food City 500 is one of two Sprint Cup races held each season at the famed Bristol Motor Speedway, with the other being the Iriwin Tools Night race.

Having been a constant on the NASCAR calendar since 1961, the Food City 500 is not only one of the top events of the season, but also one of the proudest to be held on the half-mile oval at the legendary Bristol Motor Speedway. The 2007 Food City 500 was the first ever NASCAR event in which the new Car of Tomorrow was used, resulting with Kyle Busch taking the checkered flag.

The 500-lap race is also considered to be one of NASCAR's best, having been won by the likes of Jeff Gordon, Jeff Burton, and Kyle Busch, to name a few. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series returns to Bristol in the Food City 500 for the 2012 season

The Track

Measuring in at .533 miles and featuring progressive banking which ranges from 24 - 30 degrees in the turns Bristol Motor Speedway is very tight and very fast. Racing here was once compared to racing jetfighters in a gymnasium.

The high speeds and close quarters makes for a lot of pushing and shoving on the track, and sometimes in the pits. Adrenaline (and tempers) run high as often the only way to pass is to shove the guy in front of you out of the way.

2012 Food City 500 Winner

Brad Keselowski is establishing himself as the new king of Bristol Motor Speedway.

Keselowski claimed his second straight Sprint Cup Series win at Bristol by taking Sunday’s Food City 500. The No. 2 Penske Racing Dodge driver, who won at this 0.533-mile, high-banked track last August, grabbed the lead from Matt Kenseth with 111 laps remaining. Kenseth challenged Keselowski for the top position several times within the final 100 laps but came up 0.7 seconds short at the finish line.

Keselowski picked up his fifth career victory in the series. He also became the fourth different winner in as many races this season. Each of the four manufacturers (Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford and Toyota) have been to victory lane in 2012 as well.

2011 Jeff Byrd 500 Presented by Food City Results

A day after winning a Nationwide race at the track, Busch won the Jeff Byrd 500 at the world's fastest half-mile on Sunday. Going back to last August, Busch has now won five straight races at Bristol. He has also now won five Cup races there, tying him with his older brother, Kurt.

Finishing second in today's action was Carl Edwards. Jimmie Johnson, who won last year's race, finished third. Immediately behind them were (in order): Matt Kenseth, Paul Menard, Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch, Greg Biffle, Kasey Kahne, and Ryan Newman.

As far as the other notables are concerned, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. finished in 11th, Jeff Gordon finish 14th, and Tony Steward finish 19th.

2010 Results - Jimmie Johnson Wins Food City 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race at Bristol Motor Speedway

It was classic Jimmie Johnson.

Lap after tense lap, the four-time defending NASCAR Sprint Cup champion waited for his opportunity to pounce.

With six laps remaining in Sunday’s Food City 500, Johnson finally made a charge to the front and then held on for his first victory at Bristol Motor Speedway.

The four-time defending NASCAR champion could never get a handle on the .533-mile bullring, where he struggled far more than he ever succeeded.

Until Sunday, that is.

Johnson finally knocked Bristol off his to-do list, plowing from sixth to first in just three laps Sunday to grab his first career victory at the revered Tennessee track.

The Food City 500 is a 500 lap race Nascar Sprint Cup race held on the 0.533 miles (0.858 km) track at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol Tennessee. This is one of two NASCAR races held at Bristol, and is considered one of NASCAR's best races.
