Atlanta Emory Healthcare 500 Betting OddsNASCAR Betting Odds: Gentlemen start your engines! The fall race at the illustrious Atlanta Motor Speedway will take place this year on September 2nd, and Bookmaker Sportsbook is ready with all of your AdvoCare 500 betting lines!

This will be the first time that this event is known by this name and is just the second time that it has been run on Labor Day weekend. The fall race at Atlanta has also gone by the Pep Boys Auto 500, the Bass Pro Shop MBNA 500, the NAPA 500, the Hooters 500, the Hardee's 500, the Atlanta Journal 500, and the Dixie 500 since becoming a 500 mile race in 1967.

The first ever running of this race came in 1960 at just 300 miles. Fireball Roberts drove his Pontiac to Victory Lane, earning him a cool $10,130. The prize has since risen just a tad; last year's winner Kasey Kahne picked up a check for $363,073 for his victory here last year.

Should Kahne repeat as the champion of the Emory Healthcare 500, he would be the first driver to go back-to-back at this event since Bobby Labonte pulled off the feat in 1996 and 1997. Labonte is tied for the record for the most wins in this fixture, capturing the checkered flag four times. "The King," Richard Petty and the late Dale Earnhardt also have four titles in the second race of the year at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Should a Toyota win this race, it would be the first time that that manufacturer found its way to Victory Lane at the Emory Healthcare 500. The maker of the winning car has changed in each of the last three seasons, with Chevy, Ford, and Dodge all tasting the championship.

With the Chase for the Championship winding down, this is a crucial race for all involved. Mark Martin, who is right on the fence in the Chase, has won here three times. Other notables include Jimmie Johnson, who won in 2004 and 2007, Carl Edwards, who won in 2005 and 2008, and Jeff Gordon, who found glory in 1998 and 2003. Tony Stewart (2006) and Kurt Busch (2002) are the only other probable starters in this race that have won here once before.

2011 AdvoCare 500 Winner - Gordon wins rain-delayed race

With his car sliding all over the track, Jeff Gordon held off teammate Jimmie Johnson over a thrilling last 10 laps of the AdvoCare 500 Tuesday in Hampton, Ga., to win the rain-delayed NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Gordon won for the third time this season and 85th time in his career, breaking a tie with Bobby Allison and Darrell Waltrip for third on the career list.

Richard Petty (200) and David Pearson (105) are the only drivers in Cup history with more victories than Gordon.

Atlanta Emory Healthcare 500 - Race Results

Tony Stewart figured out the restarts just in time to win the Emory Healthcare 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series night race Sunday, holding off Carl Edwards and Jimmie Johnson for his third win at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Stewart spent most of the night on the radio with his crew, apologizing for spinning his tires and costing himself valuable track position each time the green flag waved. As the laps ticked down, he promised crew chief Darian Grubb that he had, “one more trick,” to try.

But when it came down to it, Stewart was too nervous to try the old dirt-tracking trick of dragging the brake pedal. What he did instead was nail the restart clean, powering himself to the front of the pack during restarts on both lap 301 and lap 308.
