Talladega Aarons 312 Betting OddsNASCAR Betting Online: The Talladega Superspeedway has transcended mere racing culture by permeating into Hollywood with Will Ferrel’s Talladega Nights.  However, on Saturday, May 5, the top drivers will show again what really makes the track memorable.

The Aaron’s 312 is the seventh race of the year for the drivers on the Nationwide Series and will feature some of the most skilled and exciting action of the season. Kicking off at 3:00 PM ET from Talladega, AL, this race will be a great opportunity for gamblers to take advantage of NASCAR Nationwide Series wagering.

This year’s race marks the 20th year of the Nationwide Series at Talladega.  Over its illustrious history, from the days when it was known by the less than flattering names of Fram Filter 500K and Humminbird Fishfinder 500K to today’s relevance, this event has attracted some of the top names in racing.

Both Earnhardts have won here, as have both the Labontes.  Mark Martin, Tony Stewart, and Joe Nemechek have all brought home victories at this event.

Most recently, Brad Keselowski took home the win, his second victory at Talladega in his career, with the first coming in the Sprint Cup Series.

Only Martin Truex, Jr. has won in back to back years, with Truex pulling the three-peat from 2004 to 2006.

The Big One is sure to provide some tight and competitive racing.  With the possibility of a giant pile-up looming at every corner, the drivers in this one will have to keep their eyes peeled to avoid being knocked out of the race by a mistake in front of them.

2012 Aaron's 312 Winner - Joey Logano wins Aaron's 312

While Joey Logano is accustomed to being involved in close, exciting finishes at Talladega Superspeedway, he is not used to actually winning at the track. Until Saturday, that is, when he made a last-second pass of Kyle Busch to win the Aaron's 312 NASCAR Nationwide Series race.

Logano stayed tight on Busch's bumper throughout the final two laps of a green-white-checkered finish. Then when it became obvious that the trailing combo of Cole Whitt and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was going to be unable to attempt a pass, Logano whipped around Busch on the high side as they came through the tri-oval and nipped Busch at the finish line by 0.034 of a second.

Stenhouse managed a late pass of Whitt to claim third place and grab the Nationwide points lead away from Elliott Sadler, who finished 10th. Whitt was fourth followed by Dale Earnhardt Jr. in fifth, Kurt Busch sixth, James Buescher seventh, Justin Allgaier eighth and Kenny Wallace ninth. Danica Patrick finished 13th in her first race at Talladega Superspeedway.

The victory was especially satisfying for Logano, given his history at Talladega Superspeedway. He had finished second or third five times in 11 career starts at the track: three in the Nationwide Series, once in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and once in the ARCA Racing Series.
