The Atlanta 300 in Hampton, GA, is the lone Nationwide event at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Beginning back in 1992, it was originally known as the Atlanta 300, taking place in March instead of the early fall, as it was rescheduled in 2009.
Jeff Gordon won the inaugural race, and has not won one since. Mark Martin, Jeff Burton, and most recently Jamie McMurray, have taken home the checkered flag in this event twice. McMurray won his second just last year, repeating his feat from 2002, and finishing with one of the fastest times in the history of the event, at 2:04:44.
The Atlanta Motor Speedway went through a major overhaul back in 1997, switching the frontstretch and the backstretch and turning the track from a simple oval to a quad-oval. Now, Atlanta is one of the fastest tracks in the sport, posting some of the highest qualifying lap speeds in all of NASCAR.
This scorchingly fast track, combined with top drivers going head to head, makes the Atlanta 300 the perfect chance to come out on top in some NASCAR Nationwide Series wagering.
