NWS Dollar General 300 Miles of Courage Betting OddsNASCAR Betting Online: The NASCAR Nationwide Series betting you have always wanted to get into is easily available and accessible at Bookmaker, the top sportsbook on the web. One race that you may want to pay attention to is the Dollar General 300 from the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, NC. This year’s race begins on Friday, October 12 at 7:30 PM ET and televised live on primetime on ESPN2.

While the name Dollar General 300 Miles of Courage may sound like this race is running for President, it is not nearly the worst name in the history of the event. No, that prize has to go to its 2004 title, “Lowe’s Presents the SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 300.”

I wish I had made that up, but I can’t imagine having nearly that kind of comedic ingenuity. While its easy to feel embarrassed for fans and even racing in general, I feel worst for the winner that day, Mike Bliss, who was unfortunate enough to have the SpongeBob 300 be his first win of his career. Luckily, Bliss took home the Carquest Auto Parts 300 at the same track in 2009. However, for those five years, he must have been a bitter man.

Bliss currently stands 11th in the Nationwide Series standings. With his two wins on his career both coming at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Bliss may stand as a solid underdog selection when you go to participate in your NASCAR Nationwide Series betting.

Other frontrunners are last year’s winner, the gritty Brad Keselowski, and the back-to-back champion before him, Kyle Busch, although it seems Busch is a favorite to win each week. Watch this night race live on ESPN2 so you can keep an eye on your wagers.

2011 Dollar General 300 Miles of Courage Winner - Edwards rebounds for NNS win at Charlotte

Another NASCAR Nationwide Series race, another dominating performance by Brad Keselowski. For the second week in a row, Keselowski dominated a series event, but this time around the final destination wasn’t victory lane. Instead, Carl Edwards took the win after battling Kyle Busch in the closing laps of Friday night’s Dollar General 300 Miles of Courage at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Keselowski finished just outside the top-10 in sixth.

Paul Menard started on the pole but lost the lead to Ricky Stenhouse Jr. when Stenhouse beat him off pit road by taking only two tires during the first caution of the race that came out on lap 25. Elliott Sadler also took two on his stop to restart in the second position.

The two drivers battling for the Nationwide Series championship and a $100,000 Nationwide Insurance Dash 4 Cash bonus -- Stenhouse and Sadler -- maintained their first and second positions until the second caution of the race came out on lap 40. Keselowski then assumed the lead on the following restart and led much of the remainder of the race until a punctured tire caused him to spin and bring out a caution with 28 laps to go.
