If you're looking for the best advice to beat the NHL hockey gambling, you've certainly come to the right place. Here at Bookmaker sportsbook, we're previewing the NHL regular season in NHL hockey gambling, as the Montreal Canadiens look to get further than last year’s first round playoff exit.
NHL Betting Online: The Canadiens were on the precipice of changing the face of the NHL playoffs last season, but couldn’t hold on to a 2-0 first round series lead and lost to the Bruins in seven games. That result was important, because Boston would get hot from then on out and go on to become Stanley Cup champions. Montreal will try to put that in the rearview mirror and build on a pretty solid season in which the team went 44-30-8 for 96 total points despite dealing with injuries to a few key pieces.
The Canadiens welcome back most of the team’s core from last season, and have added one major piece in left winger Erik Cole. He scored 26 goals and had 26 assists last season for the Carolina Hurricanes and was signed to a four-year, $18 million contract in the offseason by Montreal. The team needs his offense, because the Canadiens averaged only 2.6 goals per game, which was 21st in the NHL and lowest among Eastern Conference playoff teams. Max Pacioretty could also give the offense a boost, as he had 14 goals and 10 assists in only 37 games last season before suffering a concussion and neck injury on March 8 against the Bruins that sidelined him for the rest of the year.
The Canadiens were solid defensively last season and are expecting the return to health of Andrei Markov, who missed nearly all of last year with a knee injury. He should strengthen a unit that allowed only 2.5 goals per game, which was eighth best in the league. Goaltender Carey Price played very all season, finishing with 38 victories and a 2.35 goals against average. He is in the prime of his career, so similar results should follow this season.
Montreal showed it could compete with the defending Stanley Cup champions in the first round of the playoffs last season, and fancies itself a contender again. The offense will need to get a boost but the addition of Cole and the return to health of Pacioretty may do that. The Canadiens have some potential in NHL hockey gambling as the season heats up soon.
