Tim Thomas will be back in goal, where he was very good last season. Thomas allowed only 1.98 goals per game in the playoffs, which was a huge reason why the Bruins won the Stanley Cup. He went 35-11-9 with a 2.00 goals against average in the regular season, so the postseason performance was no fluke. Thomas is 37 years old, but he isn’t showing many signs of slowing down.

Even though Boston was only the No. 3 seed entering the postseason in the East last year, the team did lead the conference in goal differential, and was second to only the Canucks in the NHL. That proves that the team’s success last year was not a fluke, and the Bruins should definitely be considered a top contender in NHL hockey odds to make another run at the Stanley Cup.
