WGC Cadillac Championship Betting OddsGolf Betting Online: At the beginning it was known as the WGC - American Express Championship from 1999 to 2006 and played on each October, but now it's currently played in March and sponsored by Cadillac. The Cadillac Championship is played over 72 holes in the stroke play format, and the starting field consists of approximately 70 eligible players, half the number found at most regular PGA Tour events. Because of the limited field there is no 36-hole cut. Most notably, Tiger Woods has defeated the world-class field at the Cadillac Championship six out of the times it has been played.

The World Golf Championships - Cadillac made its debut as part of the World Golf Championships series in 1999. The tournament was originally rotated from course to course each year, but beginning in 2007 it made its permanent home at the famed Blue Monster Course of Doral Country Club in Florida; replacing that venue's previous event, the Doral Open, on the PGA Tour schedule. The Cadillac Championship is a limited-field event with entry determined mostly by money list ranking, but also by FedEx Cup points and World Ranking points.

This course was designed by Dick Wilson and provides a competitive challenge for the world's best players. This course measures 7,266 yards. The Blue Monster course also has an infamous 18th hole, a demanding par 4 that is consistently ranked as one of the Top 100 Holes in the World.

Other than the Cadillac Championship, the Blue Monster Course at Doral has played host to the PGA Tour for more than 40 years. In fact, virtually every great name in golf has had a moment of personal victory at this world-class venue.

The WGC - Cadillac Championship is one of the four annual World Golf Championships tournaments for professional golfers. It is sanctioned and organized by the International Federation of PGA Tours and the prize money is recognized officially on both the PGA Tour and the European Tour.

2012 WGC Cadillac Championship Winner - Rose Beats Watson To Win Cadillac Championship

Justin Rose shot a 2-under-par 70 Sunday to overtake a faltering Bubba Watson and win the Cadillac Championship at Doral, Fla.

Rose survived a bogey on the closing hole to win his fourth PGA Tour title. He had started the day in a tie for second place, three shots behind Watson.

Tiger Woods withdrew during Sunday's round due to soreness in his left Achilles tendon. Woods curtailed his round after teeing off on the 12th hole.

Watson continued a trend of third-round leaders failing to close the deal on Sunday. He still had a chance to force a playoff but miss a 10-foot birdie putt at the 18th.

Rose built a two-shot lead following a birdie at the 14th hole but had to sweat out the finish after his approach on the 18th went over the green.

Despite failing to break 70 for the first time in the tournament, Rose finished at 16-under 272. Watson wound up alone in second place, one shot ahead of Rory McIlroy.

The world's top-ranked player had four birdies and an eagle at No. 12 to move to 15-under, but a pair of bogeys on the final five holes stalled his charge.

2011 WGC Cadillac Championship Winner

Nick Watney had every reason to see nothing but trouble as he stood on the 18th tee at TPC Blue Monster at Doral, a tough tee shot in any circumstance, let alone with a World Golf Championship on the line.

History was hardly on his side Sunday at the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship.

Two years ago, he lost a duel against Phil Mickelson by one turn of the ball on his final putt. Only the day before, Watney lost focus and pulled his tee shot into the water to make double bogey and fall out of the lead.

Presented yet another chance, Watney seized it.

He belted his tee shot down the middle, fired an 8-iron over the corner of the lake and sank a 12-foot birdie putt for a two-shot victory over Dustin Johnson.

He made it pay off with the biggest win of his career, one that puts him in the conversation of top American golfers.

Watney closed with a 5-under 67 with a birdie he felt was important, especially with Johnson behind him in the 18th fairway after a big drive of his own. Johnson hit a 9-iron that covered the flag and settled 8 feet away. Typical of his final round, he missed it and shot 71.

2010 WGC Cadillac Championship Winner

Ernie Els has ended the longest drought of his career by winning the CA Championship in Doral, Fla., in a duel with South African Charl Schwartzel.

The last time Els' tasted victory was in 2008 at the Honda Classic. Els shot a bogey-free 66, matching his best score of the week on the windy Blue Monster. He was 18-under for the four days with just five bogeys in sometimes wicked conditions.

Schwartzel put together a final-round 70 but he was tied with Els through 10 holes before a bogey on 11 gave Els a lead he was not going to relinquish.
