RBC Canadian Open Betting OddsOnline Golf Betting: The RBC Canadian Open is a golf tournament which was founded in 1904. As a national open, and especially as the most accessible non-U.S. national open for American golfers, the RBC Canadian Open event had a special status in the era before the professional tour system became dominant in golf.

In the interwar years it was considered the third most prestigious tournament in the sport after The Open Championship (British Open) and the U.S. Open.

In over one century of existence, the Canadian Open has witnessed major changes in professional golf. However, just like the immeasurable gratification of sinking a long putt or hitting a perfect drive, the enthusiastic competition has remained constant.

From legendary figures to overnight sensations, golfers ranging in all levels of talent have battled for the championship and excited golf spectators.

An incredible 17 Canadian Opens have needed playoff holes to determine the winner.

2011 RBC Canadian Open Winner - Unlikely Winner at Canadian Open

Last week, Sean O'Hair narrowly missed the cut at the Open Championship and yesterday, he savored victory at the RBC Canadian Open.

O'Hair was a surprise winner. The victory was his first top 15 finish of the year. He'd missed 10 of 17 cuts heading into the only Canadian stop on the PGA circuit and after Wednesday's pro-am opener, described his play as "horrific." This season, he'd fired his swing coach (Tiger Woods's new swing guru, Canadian Sean Foley) and caddy, another Canuck, Brennan Little.

But O'Hair managed to turn around his game on a challenging Shaughnessy course that saw many casualties, tapping in for bogey on the first playoff hole before watching Kris Blanks lip out on a five-foot bogey putt. For his efforts, O'Hair netted the nearly $1 million top prize and 500 points in the FedEx Cup standings to move into 43rd overall in the standings.
