Golf Betting Online: The John Deere Classic is an American professional golf event on the PGA Tour schedule, played annually in July, the week before the British Open Championship, at the TPC at Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. Deere & Company, which is a sponsor of the PGA Tour, hosts the John Deere Classic PGA tournament.

The John Deere Classic made its PGA Tour debut as the Quad Cities Open in 1971. Actually, the term "Quad Cities" is used to refer to the greater community of the five cities adjacent to the Mississippi River in Iowa and Illinois – the cities of Davenport and Bettendorf in Iowa, and the cities of Moline, East Moline, and Rock Island in Illinois.

From 1971 through 1974 the event was played at Crow Valley Country Club in Davenport, Iowa, before moving to Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley, Illinois from 1975-1999.

Since 2000, the John Deere Classic has been played annually in July at the TPC at Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois, just outside of East Moline, and held the week prior to the British Open Championship.

The golf tournament has been fortunate to be hosted by PGA Tour sponsor Deere & Company.

Event Achievements

Notable John Deere Classic achievements include Sam Snead having set a couple of PGA Tour records at the 1979 tournament.

At the age of 67, Snead not only became the oldest golfer to make a cut in a PGA Tour event, but in the second round he matched his age with a 67, and in the final round he bettered that score with a 66, making this is the only time a golfer has shot his age or better on the PGA Tour.

2011 John Deere Classic Winner

Steve Stricker's birdie putt from just off the green on the 18th hole secured him the 2011 John Deere Classic. Mr. Stricker celebrated when he won the John Deere Classic for the third straight time. He didn't have it easy but he did it again.
