European Tour Golf Betting Odds: The BMW PGA Championship is played each May over the West Course at the Wentwoth Club in Surrey, England. The PGA European Tour has its headquarters at the club and as the tour's home tournament; the BMW PGA Championship is often regarded as the flagship event on the European Tour. It was a fine piece of matchmaking. The BMW PGA Championship, as it is now known and Wentworth’s West Course have been good for one another. Every spring this is European golf’s main attraction.

With the European Tour having expanded to new international horizons, the schedule is such that the BMW PGA Championship now signals the arrival every year of championship golf in mainland Britain, and with it comes that buzz of anticipation and excitement. 2011 BMW PGA Championship Results

Luke Donald has won the 2011 BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth after defeating Lee Westwood in a sudden-death play-off for the European Tour's flagship event.

The win for the Chicago-based man meant that he took over as the world number one after months of knocking at the door.

It was fitting that the English duo should fight it out for the title as well as the world number one spot, but after 72 holes there was a cruel ending in store for Westwood.

Donald nearly holed his 30-foot birdie effort on the 18th that would have won him the title outright, but in the end a play-off was required.
