European Tour Golf Betting Odds: The 2012 Ballantine's Championship, once again co-sanctioned by The European Tour, the Asian Tour and the Korea PGA, will be played at Blackstone Resort in Icheon, just south of Seoul. The first visit to Korea in 2008 for the Ballantine's Championship marked the 38th different nation to stage a European Tour event. Marcus Fraser became the first wire-to-wire winner of the Ballantine's Championship in 2010.
YE Yang made history and earned hero status in his native Korea in 2009 by becoming Asia's first Major winner when he fended off Woods to clinch the US PGA Championship. Now he is looking forward to his third appearance in the Ballantine's Championship. "It's always a thrill to play in front of my home fans so I'm full of anticipation for this year's Ballantine's Championship," said Yang. "The Korean galleries are always so supportive and knowledgeable and they love seeing the home players mix it with some of the world's best. It's fantastic for Korean golf that the Ballantine's Championship is going from strength to strength and this year's tournament promises to be the best yet."
Blackstone Golf Club Icheon is a world-class golf and country club that is one of the most exclusive and prestigious in Korea. The course was created based on golf strategies and philosophy so that members of all levels are challenged. It has been designed to highlight different decisions a player can make in different kinds of situations that occur during golf, rewarding the choices and strokes made by 'Thinking Golfers'. The numerous hazards have been included on the course which will easily challenge the skilled, accurate tee shots of power-hitters.
The course will put the world's best golfers to the test once again during the 2012 Ballantine's Championship, ensuring only the most skilled and mentally tough golfer will emerge victorious.

2012 Ballantine's Championship Winner - Wiesberger takes control at Ballantine’s Championship
Bernd Wiesberger was within a round of claiming his maiden European Tour victory after running away with the lead at Ballantine's Championship on Saturday. The 25-year-old Austrian fired a second successive seven-under 65 to take a stranglehold on the $2.9 million tournament at Blackstone Golf Club, Icheon, near Seoul, South Korea.
His three-round total of 202, 14-under-par, stretched his overnight lead to five shots over Australia's Marcus Fraser, who struggled to cling on to his playing partner's coat tails with a 69. A shot further back were England's Oliver Fisher (67) and Chile's Felipe Aguilar who carded a four-under 68.
Ireland's Paul McGinley set a scorching pace in the first group out on Saturday by rolling in birdies at five of his first six holes on his way to a seven-under 65, equalling the best round of the week. But despite his efforts, which moved him up to fifth on the leaderboard by the end of the day, he was seven adrift of Wiesberger.
In calm, warm conditions perfect for scoring well under magnificently clear blue skies, Wiesberger started steadily, tapping in his first birdie on the fourth and notching another on the sixth to reach the turn in 34, two-under for his round and nine-under for the tournament. But it was on the back nine that he got hot with the putter, rolling in a succession of birdie putts on all the even-numbered holes 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 to move to 14-under-par – six shots clear of the chasing pack.
Wiesberger said it was the birdie on the par-four 10th, which statistically has been the toughest hole all week and one of the three toughest on the European Tour this year playing at an average of 4.5 strokes, that really got him going to come home in just 31 shots on the back nine.
Wiesberger's previous best finish on tour came when he was runner-up to Hennie Otto in the SA Open Championship at Serengeti in November last year.
2011 Winner - Westwood proves his worth
Lee Westwood lived up to his billing as World Number One with a stunning final round to take the Ballantine’s Championship in South Korea.
The Englishman, who climbed to the top of the Official World Golf Ranking with victory in Indonesia last week, spoke before this tournament of wanting to deliver a performance befitting his new status.
He certainly did so today, defying the pressure of expectation to shoot a superb 67 and make a decisive charge up the leader board late on an elongated day at the Blackstone GC Course.
It secured his 21st European Tour title, but his first since 2009, and lifted him to €653,508 in The Race to Dubai.
He finished on 12 under, one shot clear of close friend and joint overnight leader Miguel Angel Jiménez, who ultimately paid the price for carding two bogeys in the first four holes of the outward nine in the last round.
