Avantha Masters Golf Betting OddsEuropean Tour Golf Betting Odds: It's not all that often that we talk about the European and Asian Tours in golf betting action, but this year, we are going to be taking a very close look at one of the newest events for golfers across the globe, the Avantha Masters. This year on February 19th, some of the best golfers in Europe will battle it out for a prize fund of 1.8 million Euros.

The DLF Golf and Country Club, where this event will be held for the second straight year features a Par 72 with a ton of birdie opportunities. Four Par 5s scatter the course, including on the 18th hole, where players will inevitably have the chance to make up ground in a hurry if they can reach the green in two strokes.

The Indian Tour did hold an event here in New Delhi in 2008, with SSP Chowrasia snaring the title. The event was then called off in 2009, but was back with the new sponsorship of Avantha in the winter of 2010.

This will be just the second event sanctioned by the European or the Asian Tours played in India. Last year, Andrew Dodt picked up his first career victory by posting a -14 274, winning by one stroke over Englishman Richard Finch. Dodt, a 24 year old Aussie from Brisbane, has not won an event as a professional since that point.

Dodt is back this year to defend his crown, and he is going to be going against an eclectic group of players from around the world. Peter Lawrie, who does have some success on the PGA Tour, will be representing Ireland here in New Delhi, while there are several others that have finished in the Top 10 in major tournaments here in the United States that will be taking the long journey to the other side of the world.

There is still a question whether India will actually be represented, as Chowrasia is trying his best to get back in this field. Right now, Shiv Kapur is also trying to play and represent his country, though he is right on the cut line.

No matter who you plan on backing in this event, be sure to keep it locked to Bookmaker Sportsbook. No matter if you are looking for the best matchups, or just want to beat the golf betting lines by picking the outright winner of the Avantha Masters, we'll have the best PGA Tour betting odds available to you!

2012 Avantha Masters Winner - South Africa's Kruger wins Avantha Masters

Jbe Kruger of South Africa clinched his maiden European Tour title when he held his nerve in a tight finish to win the $2.4 million Avantha Masters golf in India on Sunday.

On a dramatic last day when hot contender Peter Whiteford of Scotland was disqualified for a moved ball in the third round, Kruger carded four birdies and a bogey in a final-round three-under par 69.

The 25-year-old from Bloemfontein finished on 14-under 274, two strokes ahead of Spaniard Jorge Campillo and Marcel Siem of Germany, after just three shots had separated the top 15 at the start of the day.

Jose Manual Lara of Spain and Australia's Marcus Fraser came in third at 11-under in an absorbing finale at the par-72 DLF Golf and Country Club on the outskirts of New Delhi.

Whiteford, who led the first two rounds and was one stroke behind leader Kruger after the third, was penalised for the moved ball on the 18th fairway during his round on Saturday.

The Scot was disqualified after the rules committee reviewed the incident on Sunday morning, following television viewers alerting chief referee John Paramor about it.

Whiteford signed his scorecard after consulting his caddy, a fellow competitor and a TV cameraman, who all said they did not believe he had moved the ball.

2011 Avantha Masters: Marc Warren crashes in final round in New Delhi as SSP Chowrasia lifts title

MARC WARREN'S Avantha Masters campaign petered out during the final round in New Delhi yesterday.

The two-time European Tour winner - who had been sitting in the top 15 after 36 holes - signed off with a three-over 75 for a two-under 286 and a share of 45th.

Scots ace Warren finished behind India's SSP Chowrasia, who picked up his second tour title in his homeland with a closing 67 for 273 and a one-shot victory over England's Robert Coles.

Peter Whiteford shot a 73 for 290 while Scott Jamieson sagged to a 76 for 291 as the Scots duo finished well down the order.

At the head of the field, Chowrasia looked to be coasting home when he reeled off seven birdies in 14 holes until a double-bogey on the short 16th opened the door for nearest rival Coles. But the Englishman, still seeking a first European win, missed good birdie chances on the run-in before a costly bogey-six at the 18th.
