Chinese Grand Prix Betting OddsFormula One Betting Online: Tune in to the Far East on Friday, April 15, for the eighth running of the difficult Chinese Grand Prix.  Roaring to a start from the Shanghai International Circuit in Shanghai, China, this third round of the Formula One season will be key for top drivers to earn points toward the championship.

In the seven year history of the Chinese Grand Prix, there has yet to be a repeat winner.  From 2004 to 2010, respectively the winners have been Rubens Barrichello, Fernando Alonso, Michael Schumacher, Kimi Raikkonen, Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, and Jenson Button.

Last year's Chinese Grand Prix saw Lewis Hamilton nearly become the first two-time champion, as he placed second behind teammate Jenson Button, trailing by a mere 1.530 seconds.

It was the second win for the McLaren constructors, who trail Ferrari's three wins at the Chinese GP, and who will surely be striving to even up the score in this year's race.

The Shanghai International Circuit was designed by Herman Tilke, the mind behind a number of Formula One tracks including the Beijing International Circuit, the Bahrain International Circuit, and the Istanbul Park Racing Circuit.

In his Shanghai creation, Tilke has installed one of the trickiest corners the drivers will see all season with turn one and two nearly sending them in a complete circle.

When all the winding around is done at the start, the drivers finish off a circuit with a signature long straightaway coming down the stretch.  Here, drivers can show off their speed as they gain on those stuck in the turns ahead.

2012 Chinese Grand Prix Winner - Rosberg takes China Grand Prix in first Formula One win

AFTER waiting 111 races for his first win, Nico Rosberg yesterday accepted that he might have to be patient a while longer before celebrating properly.

The Mercedes driver looked around the Chinese Grand Prix paddock after the race as mechanics and truckies packed up the cars and freight to be flown out of Shanghai early today bound for a controversial race in Bahrain.

The victory party may have to wait until after Bahrain, with the travelling circus heading for the Gulf kingdom with considerable trepidation and in no mood for frivolity while political unrest and violence continue on the streets.

Only four Formula One drivers have waited longer than Rosberg for a first win and one of them was on the podium with him in Shanghai yesterday, with Britain’s Jenson Button finishing second for McLaren.

2011 Winner - Hamilton takes sensational Shanghai win

Lewis Hamilton scored a fabulous victory for McLaren in a Chinese race of excellent drives, catching and passing Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel on the 52nd of the 56 laps as the reigning world champion's gamble on a two-stop strategy - and a 25-lap run on Pirelli's hard rubber - just failed to pay off.

Behind them, Mark Webber drove a brilliant race from 18th to third in the second Red Bull, only seven seconds behind Hamilton, after catching and despatching Mercedes' Michael Schumacher and Ferrari's Fernando Alonso, then doing the same to Ferrari's Felipe Massa, Nico Rosberg in the second Mercedes and McLaren's Jenson Button in the closing stages.

It was an odd race, that began with Button and Hamilton leading from Vettel, before Vettel repassed them as the first pit stops were made. He jumped Hamilton just before his stop on Lap 13, but admitted he was somewhat bemused when leader Button initially drove into the Red Bull pit before frantically being waved through to McLaren next door!
