Week 3 of the preseason is considered to be the week that most who play the NFL betting odds love the most. Typically, starting lineups play the mass majority of the first half, and some even put together a full three quarters of game time. This is the de facto dress rehearsal game for the first time that toe meets leather in Week 1 in September.
We can already pinpoint the fact that the San Francisco 49ers are going to be one of the big favorites of the week. QB Colin Kaepernick will probably get a chance to play into the third quarter of this game against the Minnesota Vikings, and there is no doubt that the starters for San Fran, especially playing at home, are going to be in much better shape than the starters for the Vikings, especially on the road. Remember that the Vikes have generally only been as good as RB Adrian Peterson has made them throughout the years, and though "All Day" might get 25 carries virtually every game in the regular season, we can't imagine he is going to be fed the ball more than a few times in this one before RB Toby Gerhart or some of the other backups come into play.
The annual preseason showdown between the New York Jets and the New York Giants takes place on the NFL gambling odds in Week 3 of the preseason, and that always tends to be an interesting one. There really isn't much of a "rivalry" between these two teams, at least when it comes to the preseason, and for the most part, the G-Men have been the team to back when these two have played. Remember that last season, the Jets went through the entire preseason without scoring an offensive touchdown, which ultimately ended up being a sign of things to come.
One of last year's most exciting rookies, QB Robert Griffin III could be facing one of this year's most exciting rookies, QB EJ Manuel on Saturday in a standalone preseason game at 4:30 p.m. ET at FedEx Field. If the field is in relatively good condition, there could be a lot of offense right out of the blocks in this one between the Redskins and Bills.
It also isn't all that often that a pair of conference foes play against each other, particularly when they could meet in the playoffs down the line. The Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers will duke it out at Lambeau Field on Friday night on CBS though, and that should be a good gauge as to which one of these two comparable teams will be better on the NFL wagering odds this year.

NFL Betting Online: There are a couple of spreads the bookies are withholding from the betting public in Week 14. As of Thursday night, we still haven’t seen odds for the Falcons at Packers contest as well as the matchup between the Browns and Patriots. Both games are off the board because of injuries to quarterbacks. Cleveland has a couple of concussed QBs in Jason Campbell and Brandon Weeden.... Continue Reading
