NFL Football Betting Odds: The NFL is the most popular sport in the world and BookMaker is the world's leading online sportsbook. If you are betting on NFL odds it only makes sense to be cashing your tickets at BookMaker! Bet on Atlanta Falcons futures, props and lines today at BookMaker online.

NFL Football Betting Odds: The Falcons went 10-6 in 2011 and earned a wildcard spot in the playoffs and quickly lost again in the first round. Matt Ryan fell to 0-3 in playoff games and now finds himself with a different coach and different offense to learn.

With two new key members, the Falcons must re-establish their circle of trust on offense. Former offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey and quarterbacks coach Bob Bratkowski left for Jacksonville. They were replaced by Dirk Koetter and Glenn Thomas. The two new coaches will be the driving forces behind helping quarterback Matt Ryan climb to elite status in the NFL – at least that's the plan – often times it takes time to develop between a QB and a new offensive coordinator.

Landing defensive coordinator Mike Nolan may be the Falcons' most important off season pickup.

The defensive players can't question any calls or scheme adjustments by Nolan because of his experience as a head coach and coordinator. He's been coaching in the NFL since 1987, was the 49ers head coach (2005-08) and has been the defensive coordinator for six other NFL teams. The defense, which showed signs of marginal improvement last year, must make a major leap in pass coverage and on third downs under Nolan. . "We'll be 4-3 and we'll use 3-4 at times, but we'll be primarily a 4-3 because this team was built that way," said Nolan, who is considered a proponent of the 3-4, but has coached both systems. "You want to play to your players' strengths."

Also, the run defense is now suspect since middle linebacker Curtis Lofton, the team's leading tackler over the past the seasons, signed with the New Orleans Saints during free agency. The defense's intensity and tempo has been fast-paced during the minicamp practices. The defense, under Nolan, clearly plans to attack the opposition. The addition of cornerback Asante Samuel is expected to boost the pass coverage

BookMaker opened the Falcons' NFL odds regular season win total at 9.5un25. The Falcons schedule doesn't look that bad with non-division home games against Denver, Oakland, Dallas, and New York Giants. They have three tough non divisional road games at KC, San Diego, and Detroit. Last year the Falcons won 10 games and with all the talent returning, Atlanta will once again win contend in the NFC and finish with double-digit wins.

Odds makers have given them +1800 NFL odds to win Super Bowl XLVII and a +1000 price to win the NFC Conference. Atlanta is the co-favorite with New Orleans to win the NFC South with live odds of +105.

Fantasy Slant: Julio Jones and Roddy White are two of the more exciting WR's in the NFL and both can be considered low end #1's and can be targeted in the first three or four rounds on draft day. Matt Ryan is too erratic to count on in a weekly basis but makes for a great backup. Michael Turner is aging and all reports out of Atlanta are that second year RB Jacquizz Rodgers is going to see more action this year which will hinder Turner's value. Tony Gonzalez returns at TE but is no better than a high end #2 TE.

Football Betting - How to bet on the Atlanta Falcons

The betting line is a posted number that the Sportsbook sets for each football game. Bookmakers post odds on who they think will win the game. The betting line will usually show a favorite and an underdog.

The Point Spread is one of the most popular wagers in NFL Football betting. You need to cover the Point Spread to win your wager. For example the Favorite in this game is the Atlanta Falcons as they have a point spread of -3. For you to win your wager, the Atlanta Falcons would need to have a final score beating the New York Giants by 4 or more points. The (-110) in brackets is the "juice" or "vig" on the wager. The Underdog in the point spread is the New York Giants +3. For you to win your wager the NY Giants could lose the game by 2 points or less.

The example below will show what an NFL betting line looks like:

  • New York Giants +3 (-110)
  • Atlanta Falcons -3 (-110)

There are also money lines, in which you are picking who you think will win the game straight up. For example:

  • New York Giants +140
  • Atlanta Falcons -160

In this example the New York Giants are the underdog. The +140 means that for every $100 you wager you will win $140. The favorite in this example is the Atlanta Falcons denoted by the -160. You have to risk $160 to win $100.

Betting on NFL Totals

  • New York giants/Atlanta Falcons Total 33O (-110)
  • new York Giants/Atlanta Falcons Total 33U (-110)

A Total Wager is a bet on the OVER/UNDER for the Total Score at the end of the game, for both teams combined. In this betting line the TOTAL is 33 (-110). For you to WIN the OVER TOTAL wager the final score would have to be 34 points or more, combined for both teams. If the TOTAL score is exactly 33 then the wager would be graded a PUSH and your wager would be returned to you.

The NFL betting line in the above example is for the full game. An NFL betting line can also be posted for 1st Quarters(1Q), 1st Half(1H) and 2ND Half(2H).
