Brian Kelly enters his third year in South Bend and for the third straight year he is looking for a quarterback. Junior Tommy Rees is the most experienced of the four options, but he also has been turnover prone and was facing misdemeanor charges in May for an off-campus party.

Junior Andrew Hendrix has the arm strength and running ability to run Kelly's spread offense, but lacks experience and also has ball security problems. Everett Golson, who didn't play last year, displayed dual-threat ability in the spring game, throwing for 120 yards with two touchdowns and running for 50 yards. He appears to be the frontrunner heading into camp. Highly touted freshman Gunner Kiel arrived in spring, but doesn't appear to be ready – yet.

The Irish return 14 starters from a team that went 8-5 a year ago. With an unsettled quarterback position, Notre Dame has one of the nation's toughest schedules with games against Michigan, Michigan State, Miami, Fla., Stanford, Oklahoma and USC. Head Coach Brian Kelly says eight-win seasons are not the standard that is set at Notre Dame, but the Irish would do well to match that number this season. Bet UNDER 8 wins.
