STANFORD 38 VS OKLAHOMA STATE 41 (OT)

2012 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Winner - Andrew Luck, Stanford fall short as Oklahoma St. claims Fiesta title in OT

The BCS system left Oklahoma State bitter. After a thrilling win in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, the Cowboys have a chance to throw a stick in the spokes.

Surviving a missed field goal at the end of regulation and getting a big kick of its own in overtime, No. 3 Oklahoma State opened the door for the chance at a split national championship with a wildly entertaining 41-38 win over No. 4 Stanford on Monday night.

Oklahoma State (12-1) kept pace with Andrew Luck and the high-scoring Cardinal, getting huge performances from its two stars, Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon, in their final collegiate game. Weeden threw for 399 yards and three touchdown passes to Blackmon, who announced he's leaving for the NFL after catching eight passes for 186 yards.

All that and the Cowboys' fortunes came down to two legs, those of Stanford kicker Jordan Williamson and their own Jordan Sharp.

Williamson couldn't come through. The redshirt freshman missed a 35-yard field goal wide left as time expired in regulation and another from 43 yards to open overtime.

Given a chip shot after Weeden hit Chelf on a 24-yard pass -- initially ruled a touchdown but overturned on review -- Sharp came through, sending his 22-yard field goal through the uprights and the Cowboys charging onto the field.

Andrew Luck was just about unstoppable from inside the pocket Monday night. He was 14-of-14 when targeting Ty Montgomery or his tight ends from the pocket, including both touchdown passes.

Should Alabama knock off top-ranked LSU in next week's Allstate BCS National Championship Game, Oklahoma State will be right there, ready to stake its claim at being No. 1 in The Associated Press poll.

They must have had a lot of squeezing going on for the 2011 Tostitos BCS National Championship when they set a new record for the University of Phoenix Stadium with attendance of 78,603 men, women and children.

The 41st Annual Fiesta Bowl is no stranger to big games (or hot women) hosting 7 National Championships, a record in itself. The people Betting Tostitos Fiesta Bowl games know it is a Bowl Championship Series member since 1998 and started as a College Bowl Game in 1971.

Talk about Economics so close to Arizona State and talk about Impact so close to the Arizona Diamondbacks stadium and any mathematician will tell you that formula equals over $3,000,000,000. That number looks sweet with 9 zeros behind it, and it isn’t wrong one bit (I checked it kind of.)

That is the Economic Impact the Fiesta Bowl along with the activities around and associated with this tremendous sporting (among other things) event has propagated to the state of Arizona  over all thos years. The Tostitos BCS National Championship Game created $354,000,000 last year in economic impact. This event is such a well done entertainment orgy that they reap revenue benefits year round from satisfied customers (even losing Huskies.)

Connecticut’s first BCS Bowl Game last year was a super spank back to the East Coast and their Big East counterparts where they have a chance of winning at least. This is the big leagues, and the Huskies bite was much worse than their bite…they really had NO bite to tell you the truth.

In last year’s game, Oklahoma turned 524 total yards into a siesta at the Fiesta Bowl. The Sooners didn’t even break a sweat while embarrassing, punishing and mauling the Huskies into Hussies. The final score was 48-20, but the ladies from Connecticut couldn’t muster an offensive touchdown. I’m Betting Tostitos Fiesta Bowl patrons from Connecticut still had an amazing time there.

This is another great BCS Bowl Game to know your players before you make those Tostitos Fiesta Bowl betting choices. You have Colt McCoy setting the most pass attempts (59) and pass completions (41) in 2009 for the Texas Longhorns as he led them to victory with 16 seconds left over the Ohio State Buckeyes 24-21. You may recognize the Buckeyes freshman quarterback sharing snaps in this one, Terrelle Pryor.

On the other hand you have Vinny “OH VINNY!” Testaverde serving it up a record 5 times in 1987 as his top ranked Miami Hurricanes lost to Joe Paterno’s Penn State Nittany Lions giving JoePa his second national championship trophy in 5 years. Heisman Trophy winner Testaverde gave Penn State their fifth serving of Vinny pie with 9 seconds left sealing many Fiesta Bowl Bets as winners.

If you are one of the lucky 75,000 or so going to the game, you may as well indulge yourself with one more party before the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl starts. It’s called “Tostitos Brings You College Football’s Biggest Party,” and there will be tens of thousands of your closest buddies there waiting for you.

This Bash will have cheerleaders, marching bands, Jumbotrons, interactive games, food and beverage and I guarantee beautiful girls, ladies and women EVERYWHERE! All you have to do is show up at the University of Phoenix Stadium and bounce to the North Orange Lot. The pre party rages (maybe wrong word with a lot of older dudes) from 12:30 p.m. and allegedly ends at 5:30 p.m. I don’t think it will ever end. For one Andrew Jackson ($20 for squares) you are ready to get rowdy and randy at the rallies there.

With all this activity and commotion, you may want to get your BookMaker account handled before you get out there. When you’re Betting Tostitos Fiesta Bowl teams, remember to use a two-sided coin when making your choices.

2011 Fiesta Bowl - Landry Jones throws for 429 yards as Sooners claim Fiesta Bowl win

Watching film of their two previous, disastrous trips to the Fiesta Bowl back at the team hotel, Oklahoma's players didn't cringe, didn't get that here-we-go-again feeling.

The Sooners got mad and took it out on Connecticut, finally ending that BCS losing streak.

Landry Jones and Ryan Broyles had record-setting games, Oklahoma's defense scored two touchdowns while holding UConn's offense without one, and the ninth-ranked Sooners ended their five-game BCS bowl losing streak with a 48-20 victory over Connecticut in the Fiesta Bowl on Saturday night.
