Toledo 42 vs Air Force 41
2011 Military Bowl Winner - Toledo tops Air Force in Military Bowl
Even the youngest head coach in the country knows not to expect the conventional from Air Force. After all, the Falcons had already scored three fourth-down touchdowns, including the one that had tied the Military Bowl with 52 seconds to play.
So 32-year-old Matt Campbell, leading Toledo for the first time, wasn't surprised when Air Force lined up to kick the extra point and ran a fake, going for two points to win the game instead of forcing overtime.
The Rockets were ready.
Holder David Baska got bottled up trying to run the option. The ball squirted toward kicker Parker Herrington, who chased it until it went out of bounds in the end zone, and Toledo started celebrating its 42-41 victory Wednesday at RFK Stadium.
"We talked about it, first and foremost, because they fake some extra points and fake some field goals," said Campbell, the Toledo offensive coordinator who was promoted this month to the head job after Tim Beckmanleft for Illinois. "Ironically, we were in the same situation last year in our bowl game. I give credit to our staff. We got ourselves into a defensive call. We were not in a 'block' look."

College football Betting Online: Anything paying tribute to our Armed Forces is refreshing and respectable; the Military Bowl is a great example of civilian sacrifice and time to help honor those who make the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. The Military Bowl Presented By Northrop Grumman takes place on December 28, 2011 in Washington, DC. If you happen to be one of the lucky ticket holders, you better show up at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC. You can also watch it at 4:30 p.m. ET on ESPN as the NCAA Bowl Games get in full swing for your Military Bowl Wagering.
This will be the fourth year the Military Bowl Presented By Northrop Grumman features an NCAA Bowl Game in the nation’s capital, Washington DC.
This is not just another great College Bowl Game either; the revenue raised through this game has benefits that are reaped by thousands of military personnel and their families. There were over 5,000 Military Bowl tickets given to members of the service and their families last year. This event also made it able for the USO to acquire proceeds of $100,000 to help further aid entire families of military troops.
The Co-Founders of the DC Bowl Committee, Inc. casually wondered if they could bring the first NCAA Football Bowl game to the nation’s capital and then went into action. Sean Metcalf and Marie Rudolph went from sports enthusiasts to deal makers when the EagleBank Bowl was born in 2008.That kind of Military Bowl Wagering on success is what makes this game even more enjoyable.
The Military Bowl Presented By Northrop Grumman was called the EagleBank Bowl for 2008 and 2009 (event held in RFK Stadium in Washington DC all years), but it has always been about the United Service Organizations (USO) and benefitting our military faithful among other goals.
The idea is to try and get Navy or another Armed Forces college football team represented here if they are bowl eligible. The basic setup is to have the ACC No. 8 (at large) vs. Navy (if bowl eligible or C-USA if Navy not eligible).
The Navy Midshipmen have a team that is not bowl-eligible this year or the boys in blue would be locked down. Conference USA also had a tie-in, but none of those powerhouses are in a qualifying position at this point. Air Force has a good chance to take one of these coveted spots. The payout per team is not paltry at $862,500 apiece.
Maryland whipped East Carolina 51-20 last year in this bowl game in front of 38,794 freaks, fans and fathers, and the Military Bowl has never disappointed in the entertainment area.
The Military Bowl is aptly named as the USO is providing free admission tickets to active duty military personnel through many USO Center locations with a valid military ID. The regional economy is also important while the USO backers help keep this a great college football venue while praising and sponsoring the U.S. military.

2010 Military Bowl - Ralph Friedgen exits with win as Maryland romps in Military Bowl
Ralph Friedgen soaked in the chants and fought back a few more tears. He gave a parting gift to his alma mater -- the highest point total Maryland has ever posted in a bowl game -- then followed it with a parting shot at the administration that fired him.
Already the Atlantic Coast Conference coach of the year, already the engineer of the second-biggest regular season turnaround in the country, Friedgen ended his 10-year run with the Terrapins on Wednesday with a 51-20 victory over East Carolina in the Military Bowl Presented By Northrop Grumman.
