Baylor 67 vs Washington 56
2011 Valero Alamo Bowl Winner - Griffin, Baylor win record-breaking Alamo Bowl
If that really was Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III's final college game, what an incredible way to go out.
Just ask him. "We went out in style!" Griffin shouted to his teammates.
It was amazing the Baylor quarterback had any breath left at all. Not after a record-shattering Alamo Bowl that might not only be remembered as the highest-scoring regulation bowl game in history, but also possibly as Griffin's last addition to his legacy in Waco.
The AP Player of the Year wasn't dazzling Thursday night, but he didn't need to be as No. 15 Baylor still pulled out an incredible 67-56 victory over Washington.
If it was RG3's final showcase before jumping to the NFL, it was a gripping goodbye to watch. One of the nation's most electrifying players was upstaged by an even more exciting nail-biter that shattered the previous record for points in regulation set in the 2001 GMAC Bowl.
Fans showered Griffin with chants of "One more year! One more year!" as he paraded the Alamo Bowl trophy around the field. He stopped at the front-row stands and showed off his prize to his mother, who has already been looking at her son's NFL draft prospects.
Griffin said he'll start looking, too, soon enough. For now, there was still the craziness of this game to sort through.

College football Betting Online: Remember the Alamodome, because that is where the Valero Alamo Bowl Odds will be tight on a couple teams that were borderline BCS picks. This college bowl sports the game that is played on December 29, 2011 in San Antonio, Texas. You can watch it at 9:00 p.m. ET on ESPN as the premiere NCAA Bowl Game before January 1, 2012.
Valero Alamo Bowl Betting Online: This is the game that gets what all the other NCAA Bowl Games kicking it before December 29 didn’t, at least one BCS team playing for Top 10 glory by BookMaker and Alamo Bowl Odds.
The Alamodome has a lot of what you want and need in a positive, festive, educational, worthy atmosphere just as they put in their spot-on mission statement. I’m going to even say they may have given me MORE than what they promised. I don’t know about you, but when it comes to sporting events, beautiful women and parties; it usually is over-promised and under delivered.
I can’t wait to get back even if I have to go watch the Texas Longhorns whip somebody’s ass like the Nebraska Cornhuskers. It’s just a game right. Well, the Valero Alamo Bowl Odds for the game aren’t out but the bowl game pays $3,175,000 to each team lucky and worthy enough to play in it this year. Right now, the projection which will probably change is Baylor Bears vs. Utah Utes. I’ll take the Bears.
"To stage a premier college football game as the showcase of an annual festival of events that will bring enjoyment to South Texans, San Antonians and visitors alike while driving positive national attention to San Antonio and supporting higher education and other worthy causes in our community." Now that is a worthy and FUN mission statement that I can say they are achieving from personal experience.
When I read anything about it, the locals rip it a new asshole. I’ve been in a lot of nice stadiums, sky boxes…..so I can only figure that Texas people just want to bitch about everything.
The Big 12 and Pac 12 is a helluva start for The Valero Alamo Bowl nailing down high finishers in each conference. This is probably the best and most liked college bowl game before January 1 every year. There always seems to be something earth shattering or last minute about the games here. You get both ends of the conference spectrum also, but the Alamo Bowl Odds are usually fairly tight.
When Purdue took on Kansas State in 1998, this was another engrossing finish that went down to the final seconds of an 80 yard touchdown drive by Purdue for the win. Some little known quarterback that had some success in the NFL orchestrated that drive. His name was Drew Brees, and he is still killin’ it as we speak. The 66 points by Nebraska setting an NCAA record there in 2000 against Texas was amazing, and believe me I know. I WAS THERE!.
This is an amazing place to watch a game. It’s not quite the experience at home, but these games set ESPN records for viewership. January 2, 2010 was the date Texas Tech held off Michigan State for a 41-31 conquest decided in the last two minutes. This has the prestigious distinction of being the “most watched bowl game in ESPN history.” There were more than 7.8 million men, women and children locked in and dialed down to this historic ESPN broadcast.
Don’t miss another possibly historic game here, and check BookMaker for the Valero Alamo Bowl Odds daily.

2010 Alamo Bowl - Justin Blackmon helps Cowboys win school-record 11th game of season
Justin Blackmon could've strolled into the end zone. But the Oklahoma State star instead turned left and trotted along the goal line until he almost reached the sideline, finally forced to make the touchdown official.
Maybe he was taking it all in. Because the nation's top receiver might not be back.
Blackmon caught two touchdowns, including his 71-yard strike that he savored long as possible before scoring, and Oklahoma State (No. 14 BCS, No. 16 AP) finished its first 11-win season with a 36-10 victory over Arizona in the Valero Alamo Bowl on Wednesday night.
