NCAA baskeball Betting Online: Several mid-major teams men's basketball programs were successful last season, and the San Diego State Aztecs were among that group. The team finished the season 34-3 and made it to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA tournament. It will be more of an uphill battle this season, as San Diego State is set to lose four starters from last year's successful squad.

The most irreplaceable loss will be forward Kawhi Leonard. He averaged 15.5 points and 10.6 rebounds last year and has taken his game to the NBA. Three other starters averaged in doule figures for San Diego State last year, and they have all departed. Malcolm Thomas (11.4 points, 8.1 rebounds), D.J. Gay (11.1 points, 3.1 assists) and Billy White (10.3 points, 4.4 rebounds) were all big parts of the team's success last year but are moving on. The only returning starter for San Diego State is Chase Tapley. He had a solid season, averaging 8.3 points on 48.5 percent shooting from the field, and his scoring output should go way up with more shots allocated his way. Junior guard James Rahon averaged 7.0 points per game last season and will also be counted on to help shoulder some of the offensive burden without Leonard, Thomas, Gay and White.

San Diego State was one of the better basketball teams in the country last year, finishing 14-2 in the Mountain West Conference and rolling into the NCAA tournament before falling to eventual national champion Connecticut. However, the team lost a bunch of talent, and being a mid-major program, those types of players don't come along every recruiting cycle. The Aztecs will be hard-pressed to repeat the performance of a season ago, which should be considered in NCAA basketball gambling.
