If you're looking for the best advice to beat the NCAA basketball odds, you've certainly come to the right place. Here at Bookmaker sportsbook, we're previewing the college basketball season, taking a look at the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, who were upset early in the NCAA Tournament last season.
NCAA baskeball Betting Online: A good regular season went bad for Notre Dame last year when it lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to Florida State. The Fighting Irish finished the season 27-7 and went into March Madness as a No. 2 seed, but exited early. Notre Dame plays in the tough Big East conference, where it went 14-4 last year, so it will have to be at the top of is game again this year.
Notre Dame is going to need to replace sharpshooter Ben Hansbrough. He led the team in scoring last season with 18.5 points per contest and shot 44.1 percent from 3-point range. He also led the team with 4.3 assists and 1.3 steals per contest. Tim Abromaitis will be expected to carry the majority of the offensive load this season. He averaged 15.4 points and 6.1 rebounds last year, and those numbers could get an ever bigger boost with more shots available now that Hansbrough has departed. Abromaitis shot 42.9 percent from 3-point range last year, but will need some reliable scorers on the floor with him this year to keep the defense occupied. Scott Martin could be one of those players. He averaged 9.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game last year and will have opportunities to improve on those numbers. The Fighting Irish will have to replace Carleton Scott, who was third on the team in scoring at 11.2 points per game and led Notre Dame in rebounding (7.4) and blocks (1.9).
Notre Dame does have to find replacement for some notable players, most critically Hansbrough. However, having Abromaitis back certainly helps, and the team has some young talent that should be ready to fill in. The Irish played well throughout last year, but its title dreams were derailed by one bad night. They are hoping that isn't the case this season in the NCAA basketball odds.
