The team returns two of its better players in Doron Lamb and Terrence Jones. Jones was second on the team in scoring last season as a freshman, averaging 15.7 points per game, and added a team-best 8.8 rebounds. Lamb averaged 12.3 points, which was third best on the team. Darius Miller is also back, and he averaged in double figures in points (10.9) and added 4.6 rebounds. The biggest loss is Brandon Knight. The team's leading scorer was a high draft pick in the NBA, and the Wildcats will have to replace his 17.3 points, 4.2 assists and 4.0 rebounds per contest. Josh Harrelson averaged 7.6 points and 8.7 rebounds per game last season and he will also have to be replaced. However, with Lamb, Jones and Miller leading the way, there is plenty of talent among the returning players. There are also several freshmen newcomers that may have an impact, including Michael Gilchrist and Anthony Davis. The Kentucky teams of recent years have been young because the talent is so good at the school that several players leave early for the NBA each season. Kentucky showed the kind of raw talent it had by making it to the Final Four last season with several freshmen making an impact. Jones, Lamb and Miller now all have another year of experience under their belt, and they will be buoyed by the addition of another talented recruiting class. The Wildcats definitely have a lot of promise in NCAA basketball betting in 2011-12.
