The biggest question mark will be surrounding the replacement of Kemba Walker. The star shooting guard averaged 23.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists last season and had several huge shots down the stretch in many games. He was the No. 9 overall pick in the NBA draft, taken by the Charlotte Bobcats. The player expected to take over the bulk of his scoring void is sophomore Jeremy Lamb. He was second on the team in scoring last season with 11.1 points and added 4.5 rebounds. He averaged 16.2 points and 4.8 rebounds in the NCAA tournament, and is expected to be a big contributor this year. Another key contributor will be Alex Oriakhi. The forward averaged 9.6 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game last year and will be the low post presence for the Huskies. Two freshmen that impressed last year will also be looked on to have bigger impacts this season. Shabazz Napier averaged 7.8 points, 3.0 assists and 1.6 steals per game last year off the bench, and Roscoe Smith added 6.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest.

Connecticut got really hot at the end of last year to win the national championship, although the regular season had its ups and downs. The Huskies are hoping to ride last year's momentum, although the loss of Walker will be tough to overcome. It's going to be an interesting year for UConn, as the team is hoping players like Lamb and Oriakhi can give it a shot at repeating as national champions in NCAA basketball wagering.
