If you're looking for the best advice to beat the NCAA basketball odds, you've certainly come to the right place. Here at Bookmaker sportsbook, we're previewing the college basketball season, taking a look at the national championship runners-up the Butler Bulldogs.
NCAA basketball Betting Online: Butler's making its Cinderella trip to the national title game a regular ocurrence. The Bulldogs have shocked the college basketball world by making it to the finals of March Madness for two consecutive years. The Horizon League participants narrowly lost to Duke two seasons ago and lost to Connecticut last year. The mid-major school went 28-10 last season, but has quite the rebuilding project ahead of it.
The two stars from last year, Shelvin Mack and Matt Howard, have moved on. Mack averaged 16 points and 4.5 rebounds per game last season and skipped his senior year to enter the NBA draft. Howard averaged 16.4 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest last season as a senior. One more starter, guard Shawn Vanzant, also graduated, so his 8.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per game are gone from Butler. The Bulldogs will have some work to do to stay on the national radar, and there are a couple players from last season that will lead that attempt. Center Andrew Smith finished last season with averages of 8.5 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game and will be one of the main offensive weapons for the team this year. Senior guard Ronald Nored isn't a huge scorer, but he plays solid defense and will be one of the team's emotional leaders. Chase Stigall and Khyle Marshall will also see their roles expand, as their will be a lot more available shots without Mack or Howard on the floor. Freshman Roosevelt Jones could make an immediate impact.
Butler survived the loss of star Gordon Hayward two seasons ago after making the title game to make a return trip last year, but the NCAA basketball odds of doing so again seem remote. Butler will need many players to contribute to fill in the large shoes of Mack and Howard, so keep an eye how the team transitions this season in NCAA basketball odds.
