If you're looking for the best advice to beat the NCAA basketball odds, you've certainly come to the right place. Here at Bookmaker sportsbook, we're previewing the college basketball season, taking a look at the 2012 Arizona Wildcats.
NCAA Basketball Betting Online: The Arizona Wildcats won the Pac-10 conference last season and made it to the Elite Eight, as the program looks to have regained its elite status under new coach Sean Miller. Arizona finished last season 30-8, losing to eventual national champion Connecticut by two points as the team narrowly missed making the Final Four.
The Wildcats will have to replace their best player, Derrick Williams, who was the No. 2 overall selection in the NBA draft. Williams averaged 19.5 points and 8.3 rebounds last year, shooting 59.5 percent from the field and 56.8 percent from 3-point range. Arizona will also need to replace Lamont Jones, the team's second-leading scorer from a year ago who transferred. Kevin Parrom averaged 7.6 points and 3.4 rebounds last season, but was wounded in a shooting in September, and his availability for this season is up in the air.
Arizona does have to replace some key cogs, but it seems to have the players to do it. Kyle Fogg (8.1 points, 2.6 assists) and Solomon Hill (8.0 points, 4.7 rebounds) should lead the way, as they have experience and found success last year. The team has a very highly regarded recruiting class coming in. Point guard Josiah Turner and shooting guard Nick Johnson should see substantial minutes from the get-go and are important pieces for Arizona. Sidiki Johnson is also a top recruit and could be in the mix at forward.
With Turner and Johnson, the future for Arizona looks bright. This year will be interesting with the losses of Williams and Jones, and the uncertainty of Parrom. The Wildcats are definitely trending in the right direction, and they would be very happy with a repeat of last season's success. Keep an eye on this young but talented team in NCAA basketball odds.
