NBA Playoffs Betting OddsNBA betting odds: NBA betting action is always on our mind here at Bookmaker Sportsbook, and we know that we are going to be watching the best and the brightest in the NBA playoffs this and every year.

Sports fans will always tell you that the NBA playoffs are as good as anything that they see on an annual basis. The top eight teams in the Eastern Conference and the top eight teams in the Western Conference battle it out in a best-of-seven series, as the 16 teams all race to get to 16 wins. Because of the best-of-seven nature of the postseason series, it isn't very often that you see a ton of upsets on the NBA betting lines for the duration of a series, as the better team often finds ways to win four times before they lose four times.

Until we reach the NBA Finals, the better seeded team hosts Games 1, 2, 5, and 7, while the worse seeded team hosts Games 3, 4, and 6. Once one team gets to four wins, the series is over with, so no one knows whether a series is going to last four, five, six, or seven games. In the NBA Finals, the team with the better of the two records hosts Games 1, 2, 6, and 7, while the team with the worse record hosts Games 3, 4, and 5. That really makes winning those first two games at home pivotal for the perceived better of the two teams, knowing that if one of those games is lost, they might not get back home.

The class of the NBA is the Boston Celtics. The C's have 17 championships to their credit, though the only one of those titles since 1986 came in 2008 when the combination of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen were all brought together.

The Los Angeles Lakers are right behind with 16 titles dating back to their days as the Minneapolis Lakers, and there is no doubt that this is the team that has played in the most championship series in NBA history. The Lakers have also lost in the NBA Finals 15 times. That's part of the reason why this is always a team that is favored on the NBA gambling lines in the second season.

There are only a total of 18 franchises that have won NBA championships in the history of the league dating all the way back to 1947.

The best run that a team has gone on recently is what the Chicago Bulls pulled off in 1991-1993 and 1996-1998. Those two "three-peats" came with the great Michael Jordan running the show.

Western Conference teams have really dominated over the course of the last decade and a half in the NBA Finals. West teams have beaten the NBA wagering lines in the NBA Finals in 10 of the last 14 championship series. The San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers, and Miami Heat have combined to win 11 of the last 14 titles, and if you throw in the Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, and Boston Celtics in with these three teams, you have all but one of the champions of the NBA dating back to 1983, and that was when the Dallas Mavericks topped the Miami Heat in 2011.
