However, like Bill Walton before him and potential franchise center Greg Oden alongside, Roy fell prey to the injury bug, and has now lost much of the initial burst that made him such an unstoppable scorer.
With injuries now plaguing the franchise, the burden of the scoring falls on new franchise cornerstone LaMarcus Aldridge. A regrettable snub from the All-star game, which LeBron James called the biggest snub of all time, Aldridge has proven to be a franchise player on which the Blazers can hang their hat.
Falling to the eventual champion Dallas Mavericks in the first round last year, the Blazers will look to finally take that next step everyone thought would have already been taken, and win a first round playoff series. It all depends on health, as Brandon Roy and Greg Oden need to provide meaningful minutes in order for the Blazers to improve this season.
