NBA Betting Online: The Chicago Bulls began play in the NBA in 1966. The Bulls currently compete in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference.

As one of the most prolific franchises in basketball history, Chicago has captured six NBA championships and six conference titles. The Bulls have never lost a Finals series in their six appearances. They have also won eight division titles.

The Bulls host home games at the United Center in downtown Chicago. Player introductions have become infamous over the years, blaring spotlight songs such as "Sirius", "The Imperial March" and "On The Run."

The Bulls are forced to leave the United Center for two-week stretch during the middle of the season because the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus comes to town. This is known as the Circus Road Trip.

Chicago was first led by Johnny "Red" Kerr in the 1966-67 season and the team posted the best record by an expansion team in NBA history. With guys like Jerry Sloan, the Bulls tranformed into a defensive-minded squad but only managed to win one division title.

After narrowly missing out on drafting Magic Johnson, the organization hit paydirt in 1984 when it selected Michael Jordan with the third overall pick in the draft. Jordan would quickly become the face of the franchise, finishing third in scoring and fourth in steals during his first year while collecting Rookie of the Year honors.

In 1989, Phil Jackson was named head coach and Scottie Pippen became Jordan's running mate. Two years later, the three would form the beginning of one of the greatest dynasties in modern sports history as the Bulls won six championships over the next eight years.

The Bulls captured the 1991 NBA Finals against Johnson and the Lakers. Jordan was honored with the Most Valuable Player award for the Finals and the regular season while also registering his fifth straight scoring title.

Chicago would continue its dominance over the next two seasons with two more Larry O'Brien Trophies. Jordan and Pippen were flanked by players such as Bill Cartwright, Horace Grant, John Paxson and B.J. Armstrong.

During the fall of 1993, shortly after his father had been murdered, Jordan announced his retirement from the NBA. He attempted to pursue a career in baseball but that was short-lived.

Jordan returned to the hardwood in 1994 and the Bulls would return to prominence the following season. With a different supporting cast consisting of players like Luc Longley, Steve Kerr, Ron Harper, Toni Kukoc and Dennis Rodman, Chicago would go on to claim three consecutive championships from 1995 to 1997.

The Bulls 1995-96 team is considered to be the greatest in the history of the league. They won an NBA record 72 games, becoming the first team to eclipse the 70-win mark.

Jordan retired for the second time on January 13, 1999, and the team immediately experienced an age of futility. High expectations for draftees such as Elton Brand, Ron Artest, Eddy Curry, Tyson Chandler and Jay Williams never came to fruition and the Bulls never made the postseason from 1999 to 2004.

There is plenty of optimism surrounding the present state of the Bulls. The organization caught a break when it landed the No. 1 overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft Lottery despite having a 1.7 percent chance of attaining it. With the pick, Chicago brass took point guard Derrick Rose out of Memphis.

By 2010, Rose had emerged as one of the top three point guards in the league. He possesses uncanny speed and athleticism for his smallish frame. Rose can create off the dribble and score when needed. The primary improvement spot for him is long-range shooting.

Former Boston Celtics assistant Tom Thibodeau accepted a three-year contract to fill the Bulls' head coaching vacancy in June of 2010. He instilled a defensive mentality that made the team the top-ranked defense during the 2010-11 season. That season Chicago lost in the Eastern Conference finals to Miami.
