MLB Home Run Derby Betting OddsMLB All-Star Break betting odds: The MLB Home Run Derby is, as Chris Berman would say, back, back, back! This year’s 2011 Home Run Derby will feature some of the league’s most powerful sluggers, as they take to the plate looking to create history. This exciting night of exhibition provides the perfect tournament format for you to bet on baseball.

On Monday, July 11, fans will pack Chase Field in Arizona for a chance to grab one of the many home run balls that will be sent into the stands.

Major League Baseball can only hope for a repeat of last year’s contest, that saw the dynamic David Ortiz beat out fellow Dominican Hanley Ramirez in the final round, by hitting a sizable 11 to Hanley’s 5.

The contest was not without disappointment and nerves, as Corey Hart, after leading the group with thirteen bombs in the first round, turned around and put up a goose egg in the second round, missing out on the finals.

In the history of the Home Run Derby, there is a three way tie for the team with most wins. The Mariners, Cubs, and Angels all have 3 wins in the history of the contest. However, the Philadelphia Phillies hold the record for most total home runs, thanks to a 2005 explosion from Bobby Abreu that saw the outfielder hit 41 total, the record for most in one contest.

The record for most in a round, however, belongs to Josh Hamilton, who in 2008 in Yankee Stadium, hit 28 goners in the first round alone.

Tune in to this year’s contest to see if anyone can beat that mark, and to try your hand at a little bet on baseball.
