If you're looking for the best advice to beat the MLB baseball betting odds, you've certainly come to the right place. Here at Bookmaker sportsbook, we’re examining the history of the Milwaukee Brewers.
MLB Baseball Betting Odds: The Milwaukee Brewers started as the Seattle Pilots in 1969. They only played there for one season before moving to Milwaukee after being acquired in bankruptcy court by now-commissioner Bud Selig. The Brewers acquired their name because of the city’s association with the brewing industry. Milwaukee plays inside Miller Park. Milwaukee was a part of the American League from its inception in 1969 until 1997. At that point, they moved over to the National League Central, where they have stayed ever since. The city of Milwaukee had the Braves as its major league franchise from 1953-1965.
The Brewers won the American League East and the AL pennant in 1982, but lost in the World Series to the St. Louis Cardinals. The team didn’t make the postseason again until 2008, spurred by a trade for star left-handed pitcher C.C. Sabathia. However, the Brewers were eliminated by eventual World Series champion Philadelphia. The team wasn’t very good for a long stretch, as an 81-81 record in 2005 was the first time since 1992 that the team did not have a losing record.
However, with young stars like Rickie Weeks, Ryan Braun, Yovani Gallardo and Prince Fielder, the Brewers did build a nice core. Offseason acquisitions of Zack Greinke and Shaun Marcum helped boost the starting rotation in 2011, making the team very competitive in the National League Central. Fielder is a free agent after the 2011 season, but even if he bolts for a team that offers more money, the team still has a solid core that should keep the team competitive in MLB baseball betting for a few years. The Brewers are a smaller market team, so it is tough for them to stay in the postseason hunt every season, but the team looks to be in good shape moving forward.
