Colorado Rockies MLB Betting Odds

MLB baseball Betting Online: The Colorado Rockies are an expansion team that began play in 1993. The team plays at Coors Field, a place that was notoriously advantageous for hitters in the mid-1990s because of Denver’s high altitude, which let the ball fly much farther than at ballparks closer to sea level. Because of this, Colorado would often be near the top of the MLB offensive leader boards, but near the bottom of the pitching statistics. The Rockies had four players that were known as the ‘Blake Street Bombers’ - Larry Walker, Dante Bichette, Andres Galarraga and Vinny Castilla. Colorado made its first playoff appearance in 1995, but lost to the Atlanta Braves in the National League Division Series. The offense was impressive the next two seasons, but the Rockies could not get back to the playoffs, and the core was disbanded near the end of the 1990s.
The fan base in Denver was always good to the Rockies early on, as the team led the league in attendance for several straight years. However, following a taste of the playoffs early on, Colorado ebbed and flowed between winning and losing seasons, unable to get back to the postseason until 2007. In 2007, the Rockies used an 11-game winning streak late in the season to grab the wild card spot, and then dispatched the Phillies and the Diamondbacks to make the World Series. Once there, though, Colorado dropped four consecutive games to the Boston Red Sox. Colorado made it back to the postseason in 2009, but lost to the Phillies in four games in the National League Divisional Series.
The Rockies finished over .500 in 2010, but did not make the postseason. However, led by stars Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez, Colorado has a solid lineup. Ubaldo Jimenez did not live up to expectations in the first half of the 2011 season, but Colorado does have some talent. The team has been up and down throughout its history, but does have enough to stay competitive in MLB baseball betting moving forward.
