Chicago Cubs Betting OddsMLB Baseball Betting Odds: The Chicago Cubs are commonly known as the ‘Lovable Losers’ because of their more-than-100-year drought without winning the World Series. The Cubs last won the World Series in 1908 and haven’t been to the Fall Classic since 1945. It is the longest drought of any team among all four professional sports. The club played its first games in 1870 and was founded professionally in 1871. The team is owned by Tom Ricketts, who bought the team from Wrigley Company and the Chicago Tribune.

The Cubs play in the National League Central Division, along with the Astros, Cardinals, Brewers, Pirates and Reds. They last won the division in 2008, the second in a row, but lost in the National League Divisional Series both years. The Cubs last won a playoff series in 2003, and were just five outs away from making the World Series. However, in the infamous incident involving fan Steve Bartman, Moises Alou couldn’t corral a foul ball, and the Marlins rallied to win the National League Championship Series and advance to the World Series.

The Cubs have struggled in the past few years and are in a state of transition. While they are in a major market, the team has not competed well the last few years. Chicago still has one of the most festive atmospheres in baseball at Wrigley Field, and has been a great draw for MLB baseball wagering.
