They last won the division in 2008, the second in a row, but lost in the National League Divisional Series both years. The Cubs last won a playoff series in 2003, and were just five outs away from making the World Series. However, in the infamous incident involving fan Steve Bartman, Moises Alou couldn’t corral a foul ball, and the Marlins rallied to win the National League Championship Series and advance to the World Series.

The Cubs have struggled in the past few years and are in a state of transition. While they are in a major market, the team has not competed well the last few years. Chicago still has one of the most festive atmospheres in baseball at Wrigley Field, and has been a great draw for MLB baseball wagering.
