AWAIT THE DAWN – horse betting connections are also pondering the Classic. More likely here, where he'll need to run better than he did last time.

BRILLIANT SPEED - may be one of the best three-year-old turf horse betting runners in the U.S., but that doesn't stack up against the Euros.

DEAN'S KITTEN - certainly earned his place in the starting horse betting gate. Might be hoping for rain, and that would only strengthen the Euros.

MEEZNAH - first preference is the Marathon. The fact that horse betting connections are pointing for the Marathon on dirt might tell the story.

MIDDAY - won the 2009 Filly & Mare Turf and finished second last year. Either of those horse betting efforts may be good enough to win this.

STATELY VICTOR - best races have come on polytrack and he simply doesn't match up to these based on horse betting class.

TEAKS NORTH - he's won a pair of Grade I races this year, but that only shows the horse betting state of turf racing in the U.S.

WINCHESTER - hasn't won a stakes race outside New York since 2008. Finished 4th and 7th in previous horse betting starts in this race.

SARAFINA - top European filly disappointed in the Arc, but the fact that she was favored goes a long way. Obviously a major horse betting contender.

SEA MOON - Sir Michael Stoute has won this race four times previously. If he's bringing one over this year it demands horse betting respect.

ST NICHOLAS ABBEY - Talented Euro may not have been expecting Midday or Sarafina when he signed on. Still not without a horse betting chance.

Since the inaugural Breeders' Cup back in 198, the Turf has always immediately preceded the Classic. Not this year. Reporting to showcase Goldikova in the Mile, this race was moved up on the horse betting schedule this year. Once again the edge, decidely, goes to the horse betting invaders. Take your pick - MIDDAY, SARAFINA, ST NICHOLAS ABBEY, SEA MOON, AWAIT THE DAWN - they're all better than anything the horse betting home team has to offer.
