13. Turallure – 8/1, (Lopresti, Leparoux)

-GOLDIKOVA – one of the best thoroughbreds the horse betting world has ever seen is back to rewrite the history books once again. She won this race last year for an unprecedented third year in a row, and there is no reason she can’t do it again. The inside post wouldn’t seem like a great fit, but her connections were thrilled with the draw. Some speculate that she has lost a step in 2011 because she has lost three times, but she finished second in every horse betting loss and the European mile division appears to be stronger this year than year’s past. Her 125 Racing Post Rating earned last time out equaled her highest rating from 2010, and she even earned a 126 earlier this horse betting year – it’s hard to see where she is slowing down. A crowd horse betting favorite, she will offer little value at the betting windows, but she is strictly the one to beat again.

-ZOFFANY – came with one length of the mighty Frankel this summer and then finished ahead of Strong Suit one race later, but those efforts have appeared to pop the bubble. He beat only one horse across the wire in his final horse betting race in France, then basically throughout in the Shadwell Turf Mile-G1 at Keeneland behind three that he faces today. Needs a drastic horse betting turnaround.

-COURAGEOUS CAT – ran within a half-length of Goldikova in the 2009 BC Mile at Santa Anita. He has won 3-of-5 starts in the US since, losing another by a horse betting neck. That was a tough beat against Turallure in the Woodbine Mile-G1, a race in which Patrick Valenzuela may have moved too soon. Hard to count out, but it must be noted that his last three horse betting losses in the US came against horses he faces again today.

-MR. COMMONS – three-year-old colt hasn’t finished worse than fourth in four horse betting starts on turf, but is looking for his first win against older runners. Was unable to catch Jeranimo last time out as the 4/5 betting choice despite having a sizzling pace to set the table. Has never run a bad race under Mike Smith, but it remains to be seen whether he belongs at this horse betting level – he’s yet to win a graded stake of any horse betting kind.

-GIO PONTI – this will be the final horse betting race of his stellar horse betting career. Connections once again toyed with the idea of running on dirt in the BC Classic, but decided to take one last shot at Goldikova over his preferred surface. Rallied from way back to finish second in this race last year, a strategy that he is likely to employ once again. Just one win this horse betting year but it came last time out over some of these, and he’ll be coming.

-GET STORMY – sat off the horse betting hip of Sidney’s Candy in the Shadwell Mile-G1 at Keeneland, moved by to take a short lead and battled to the wire before giving way to Gio Ponti. Scored the only Grade I win of his career over this horse betting turf course on Derby Day, but he also finished a dismal 11th in this horse betting race last year. Like Courageous Cat, in order to win he must beat horses that have beaten him recently.

-JERANIMO – here’s a tough one to figure. He went ten horse betting months without a win then turned in a huge effort in the Oak Tree Mile-G2, tracking sizzling fractions and the holding off a late charge by Mr. Commons. The 108 Beyer Speed Figure he earned was the best of his career, and it came in his 22nd career race. Can a five-year-old possibly duplicate that kind of effort next-time out, after traveling across the country and racing over a new horse betting course? More than likely his last was the result of a perfect horse betting trip.

-BYWORD – French horse betting runner appears to have come back into form following a seven-length drubbing at the hands of Goldikova in May. He has won his last two races, and while those were Group II and Group III races, he did beat Cirrus des Aigles last time out and that horse betting runner came back two weeks later at the expense of Midday and So You Think. May not be in Goldikova’s league but may be better than most of the US runners in this horse betting field.

-COURT VISION – finished fourth in this race in 2009 and fifth in 2010, and would probably be happy with a finish that high this year. He hasn’t hit the board in four horse betting starts this year, while facing runners that are back in the starting gate. Officially has won only one race since 2009 (got another via DQ) and isn’t likely to end that horse betting streak today.

-SIDNEY’S CANDY – just doesn’t seem to have the same “sizzle” since joining the Todd Pletcher barn. His only win this year came when he was allowed to waltz on the lead through fractions of :50.2 and 1:14.1. Last time out in the Shadwell Mile he was allowed to clear the field early, but gave way to Get Stormy rather easily and then also saw Gio Ponti come charging by. Finished sixth in this race last year after setting all the pace.

-STRONG SUIT – if Goldikova can’t get the job done many European horse bettors, and they’re a knowledgeable group, believe this three-year-old colt may be the one. He won his last two races across the pond, and his only loss among his last four races came by a horse betting head – although he was beaten by Zoffany that day, and that colt certainly hasn’t shown much since. He has yet to win beyond seven furlongs, and has never run over a course with left-handed turns. Also note that he lost both previous horse betting trips outside his home base of Great Britain.

-COMPLIANCE OFFICER – claimed for $25,000 in May, this gelding has run off five-straight wins for his new horse betting connections. Of course it’s hard to ignore the fact that every win came against New York-bred opposition. His connections were said to be faced with two decisions – run in the Claiming Crown or the Breeders’ Cup. Can’t fault them for taking their horse betting shot, but hard to believe he can beat a horse betting field like this.

-TURALLURE – seemed to turn it around following a minor horse betting stakes win over this turf course in June. Since then his only loss came to Sidney’s Candy, but that was the day when ‘Candy’ walked alone on the horse betting lead. Easily defeated Get Stormy two starts back, then unleashed a powerful late run to nail Courageous Cat at Woodbine most recently. Got no help with the draw, but maybe not a huge disadvantage given his running horse betting style. Certainly worth a look in the exotic wagers.
