Breeders Cup Marathon Betting OddsBreeders' Cup Betting Online: The 2011 Breeders’ Cup World Championships will be held at Churchill Downs, for a record eighth time, on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5. Bet on these races live at Bookmaker.

Date - Saturday, November 4

Post Time - 1:20PM (ET)

Distance - 1 3/4 Miles, Dirt

Purse - $500,000

Wagering - WPS, Exacta, Trifecta, Superfecta, Daily Double, Pick Three

PRE-ENTRIES

A.U. MINER - useful horse betting prep in the Jockey Club Gold Cup-G1, which was too short. Finished troubled third in this race last year.

AFLEET AGAIN - third-place horse betting finish behind two of these earlier this year is all he can hang his hat on, and that's not enough.

BARYSHNIKOV - former claimer has established enough horse betting class to run with these, yet doing so on dirt is the real question.

BIRDRUN - likely to improve in his second start off the horse betting bench. Should be among the leaders from the opening bell.

BRIGANTIN - horse betting distance no problem after running 2 1/2 miles in Europe. How he handles switching to dirt remains to be seen.

CEASE - third-place horse betting finish in relatively weak Grade II at Hawthorne was his stakes debut. Hard to say if these are any tougher.

ELDAAFER - defending horse betting champ was in better form coming in last year. At least we know he can handle the track and distance.

GIANT OAK - fourth in this race last year as the horse betting favorite, then won a pair of Grade I races. Currently riding six-race losing streak.

HARRISON'S CAVE - doesn't appear to be among the best for top European connections, but he does bring good horse betting form.

MEEZNAH - European filly is a winner at this horse betting distance, but there's not much "dirt" in her pedigree.

PLEASANT PRINCE - long-winded horse betting runner might just be getting into gear when many others begin to tire. Has a previous win at Churchill Downs.

STATELY VICTOR - first horse betting preference is the Turf. Dirt is not his preferred surface and he's riding a nine-race losing streak.

TUTTI BUONA GENTE - he was running against $10,000 claimers at Ellis Park in August. This would be a real rags-to-riches horse betting story.

HORSE BETTING OUTLOOK

Last year, when the Breeders' Cup Marathon was the first championship race of the horse betting day on Friday, the bettors were pretty "ho-hum." Don't expect much more this year, even with the race being moved to Saturday.

There isn't a horse in this horse betting field that can be considered among the best from the U.S. or Europe, and for that reason most handicappers simply won't bother heading to the horse betting windows. Fortunately this race is not part of any major wagers such as the Pick Four or Pick Six.

Of the 15 championship races to be run this weekend, this may generate the least amount of horse betting interest from fans and horse betting handicappers.

Final horse betting entries are due Monday, October 31. At that time horse betting fields will be set, post positions will be drawn and morning-line odds will be set. Be sure to check back next week for further analysis, and selections, for the Breeders’ Cup Marathon.
