-MY GI GI – won her career horse betting debut on turf at Louisiana Downs, then lost a horse betting stake by just a head at the same venue. Shipped to Santa Anita for a shot on the dirt and wasn’t disgraced in the Oak Leaf-G1, finishing fourth behind Juvenile Fillies contenders Weemissfrankie and Candre.
-DAYATTHESPA – easily won her horse betting career debut sprinting over the turf at Saratoga, then jumped right into graded stakes horse betting company in the Natalma-G3 at Woodbine. That day she pressed the pace after breaking from an outside post, took a lead into the stretch and was caught late by Northern Passion, running in today’s Juvenile Fillies. Should enjoy a ground-saving trip from the horse betting inside.
-UP – Irish filly beat 12 horse betting rivals last time out so the big field won’t bother her. The obvious horse betting concern is that her victory came on polytrack against maidens. Aidan O’Brien has had a remarkable year shipping runners over to the U.S., but this filly doesn’t appear one of his stronger Breeders’ Cup horse betting contenders.
-STOPSHOPPINGMARIA – When she broke her maiden by nearly ten lengths at Saratoga she earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 101 – that makes her the fastest two-year-old horse betting filly in the US this horse betting year. But after she finished a well-beaten second in the Frizette-G1 Todd Pletcher surprisingly decided to run her in this race, which will be her first on horse betting turf. Worked in company with Sweet Cat over the lawn this week and handled it just fine. Her regular horse betting rider John Velazquez opts to stay with Stephanie’s Kitten.
-STEPHANIE’S KITTEN – earned a horse betting spot in the Juvenile Fillies with her recent horse betting win in the Alcibiades-G1 at Keeneland, but she’s never run on dirt so she winds up here. Easily won over a yielding turf course in early August, then was a closing third in the Natalma-G3 at Woodbine, finishing two lengths behind Dayatthespa. John Velazquez opted for her over Stopshoppingmaria and Sweet Cat.
-SWEET CAT – improving filly comes off a runner-up horse betting finish behind Somali Lemonade in the Jessamine-G3 at Keeneland. While she couldn’t handle that rivals superior late run, she did finish nine lengths clear of the horse betting rest, and that is a huge margin in a turf race. She’s another Pletcher filly that loses her regular rider in Velazquez, but she gets an ample horse betting replacement in Garrett Gomez – Pletcher and Gomez teamed up to sweep last year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile turf races.
-ROYAL BONNIE – gamely won her career debut going two horse betting turns over the turf at Saratoga, and that’s not an easy thing to do. Jumped right into graded company and finished a distant second behind Pure Gossip, only to be disqualified for not keeping a straight horse betting path. She probably needs a career-best horse betting effort.
-HARD NOT TO LIKE – she’s won three of four starts, all on turf at Woodbine. Her only loss was a 5th-place finish behind some of these in the Natalma-G3, but she didn’t have the best of horse betting trips that day. She has enough tactical speed to secure a good trip and she is a proven winner at this horse betting distance.
-PURE GOSSIP – she’s already lit up the horse betting board at 371 and 23/1 so she doesn’t mind being labeled a longshot. Made her turf debut in the Ms. Grillo-G3 at Belmont Park and blew by the field in the stretch for an impressive horse betting win. The turf was “soft” that day so she’s a tough read, but she has surprised before.
-ELUSIVE KATE – surprisingly, international fillies have struggled in this horse betting race, but that could all change today if this filly lives up to her European form. She brings a four race win streak across the pond, with improving Racing Post Ratings every time out. She has yet to race over a “left-handed” horse betting course, but that appears to be the only chink in the horse betting armor – and she may handle it just fine.
-ANN OF THE DANCE – tough spot to make her turf horse betting debut, but she is certainly bred to like the surface. Deep-closing filly should get enough pace up front, but she’ll need a trouble-free trip and that is no guarantee in a field of this size. Makes her first start after being purchased privately by Farnsworth Farm and Marty Wolfson, and they have a horse betting history of success with new horse betting acquisitions.
-DEAR LAVINIA – she won 3-of-5 starts in France and never missed the horse betting board, but she was no real match for Elusive Kate back in July at Deauville. She’s never run around left-handed turns or run in a horse betting field larger than eight. Recently purchased by celebrity chef Bobby Flay, who won this race last year with More Than Real.
-CUSTOMER BASE – unbeaten in two starts, both on synthetic horse betting surfaces. Wanted to get onto the grass last time out at Keeneland, but rainy weather spoiled the party. Got no bargain at the post position draw, but last year’s juvenile turf races were won from posts 11 and 12, and if anyone can work out a horse betting trip it’s Churchill Downs’ leading rider Julian Leparoux.
-SOMALI LEMONADE – widely considered the top US contender following impressive last-to-first wins in both starts. Blew by Sweet Cat in the Jessamine-G3 at Keeneland like she was standing still. Far outside horse betting post may actually be a blessing, as she can quickly drop back and over to the inside, but of course that means she’ll have to find clear running room when they hit the horse betting stretch.
-BOURBONSTREETGIRL (AE) – gets extra credit for winning her horse betting career debut around two turns on the grass, but offered no real challenge in two recent tries against stakes company. Those horse betting races were run over wet turf courses and maybe she wants it firm, but it just doesn’t look like she’s fast enough.
-KARLOVY VARY (AE) – unlikely to draw into the race with one other ahead of her on the Also Eligible List, but this filly could easily be used in the exotic wagers if she finds her way to the gate. Although she is stepping up from maidens to a graded horse betting stake, she has run well enough in both starts to suggest she has a fighting chance for part.

Calder Race Course Horse Betting Journal: Week 5 - Friday, May 18th, 2012
Horse Betting Online: Rain hit the area late in the day last Wednesday, and while the main track remained “ fast ” throughout the week, horse betting handicappers did not see a race on turf until Race 11 on Saturday. The lack of racing on the grass resulted in fairly “ short ” horse betting fields, with only two races Wednesday-Friday offering ten or more starters. For the... Continue Reading
