2015 Breeders Cup Betting: Filly and Mare Turf
- Sports Betting Articles
Breeders' Cup Betting Online: It's another year at the races, and that means there are plenty of great events to beat the horse racing odds at the Breeders' Cup. Today, we are set to look at the 2014 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf here at BookMaker Sportsbook, and to do that, we'll look at all of the contenders and their chances to win this race.
The 2014 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf takes place on Saturday, November 1st at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, CA. This is one of the many fantastic races of the year, and it goes to post at approximately 3:43 p.m. ET. This field will take to the track in a big battle on the horse racing odds.
1999 marked the first time that the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf race was held, and as it insinuates, this is one of those races where the ladies are showcased. Of late, we have seen international winners of the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare, as the British lass, Dank and the French filly, Zagora are the last two to beat the horse racing betting odds in this race.
This year, the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf is a bit shorter race at 1 1/4 miles. The race has historically been run at either 1 3/8 miles or 1 3/16 miles, but here at Santa Anita Park, the best configuration for the track has this race cut down just a bit to 1 1/4 miles. It's still a long race for fillies to run, though the turfers tend to be able to run a bit longer than those who end up running on the dirt for their entire careers.
A big field is expected this year in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare turf race, as there are six automatic slots handed out to winners of qualifying, "Win and You're In" races as a part of the Breeders' Cup Challenge. A maximum of 14 fillies can fill out this field.
Euro Charline won the Beverly D. Stakes at Arlington Park earlier this year, and she is going to hope to follow the path that Dank did last year. Dank qualified for this race by winning the Beverly D. Stakes, and she went on to capture the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf race as well. Interestingly enough, Euro Charline is the fourth straight European filly to beat the horse racing gambling odds in that race even though it is run in Chicago.
The Yorkshire Oaks will send Tapestry to the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf race, while Deceptive Vision will come to Santa Anita having won the Canadian Stakes at Woodbine to qualify. The other automatic qualifying races are the Flower Bowl Invitational Stakes, the Rodeo Drive Stakes, and the Prix de l'Opera. Those winners include Stephanie's Kitten, Miss Serendipity, and We Are respectively, though none of these three are expected to be amongst the big time favorites on the horse racing wagering odds in one of the de facto undercard races at the Breeders' Cup on November 1st.
