Belmont Stakes Betting OddsTriple Crown Betting: It's another year at the races, and that means there are plenty of great events to beat the horse racing odds on as the road to the Triple Crown finally wraps up. Today, we are set to look at the 2014 Belmont Stakes here at BookMaker Sportsbook, and to do that, we'll look at all of the contenders and their morning line odds.

The 2014 Belmont Stakes takes place on Saturday, June 7th at Belmont Park in Elmont, NY. This is one of the many fantastic races of the year, and it goes to post at approximately 6:30 p.m. ET. This field of 11 will take to the dirt in one of the biggest races of the year on the horse racing odds. The third leg of the Triple Crown can be seen live on NBC.

#1 Medal Count ( 20/1 ) – Medal Count will be one of the longshots on the horse racing betting odds for sure, but an eighth place finish at the Kentucky Derby was a deceptively good finish for a pony who was 26 to 1 on the day at Churchill Downs.

#2 California Chrome ( 3/5 ) – The No. 2 post is one of the better ones for California Chrome to break from, especially without all of the speed of this race anywhere near him. Expect Jockey Victor Espinoza to get his colt into a great position once again. The only question? Can he run the mile and a half? If he can, expect to see a Triple Crown winner for the first time since '78.

#3 Matterhorn ( 30/1 ) – The entry makes little sense whatsoever for Matterhorn. Yes, he ran in the Peter Pan Stakes, and yes, he did post a 100 Beyer Speed Rating on the day, but his workouts have been so-so, and he just doesn't have the history to make us think he can compete on the horse racing gambling odds at this level.

#4 Commanding Curve ( 15/1 ) – We're not really all that sure that Commanding Curve was worth backing at this price. He was nearly a 40 to 1 longshot at the Kentucky Derby, and he surged out of nowhere to finish second. That said, he's got a lot more around him in terms of closers, and we have to think that he is going to end up getting into traffic. At 30 to 1, we would consider. At 15 to 1, Commanding Curve is a much tougher sell.

#5 Ride On Curlin ( 12/1 ) – The best horse racing wagering odds in the Belmont Stakes. Ride On Curlin legitimately could have run down California Chrome in the Preakness Stakes had it been maybe an eighth of a mile longer. Now, he's got his shot to flex his muscles with the ultimate breeding behind him. If there is ever a day for Ride On Curlin to beat California Chrome, this is the day.

#6 Matuszak ( 30/1 ) – We're not much for a horse who has never finished better than fourth in a graded stakes race in his career.

#7 Samraat ( 20/1 ) – With about a quarter mile left in the Kentucky Derby, Samraat was nose to nose with California Chrome. The Triple Crown contender put him away with ease, and Samraat slunk to a fifth place finish. He'll need his best to beat CC and the field on Saturday.

#8 Commissioner ( 20/1 ) – There was a point about a year ago where some were wondering if Commissioner was the best horse of this crop. He finished second at the Peter Pan Stakes two weeks ago, which is usually a sign of good things to come at the Belmont.

#9 Wicked Strong ( 6/1 ) – There was a lot of talk about Wicked Strong at the Kentucky Derby, but an outside post really doomed him. He draws an outside post again, but will it make a difference that this field is basically half the size?

#10 General a Rod ( 20/1 ) – A late entry into the Belmont fray for sure, but there has to be something which Trainer Michael Maker sees here to put General a Rod into a third straight Triple Crown race even though he hasn't had all that much success.

#11 Tonalist ( 9/1 ) – The winner of the Peter Pan Stakes is always one of our favorite bets at the Belmont Stakes. Tonalist didn't just win the Peter Pan; he romped at it by four lengths by posting a 107 Beyer Speed Rating on a sloppy track.

Belmont Stakes Jockey Report

There aren't many races in the world like the Belmont Stakes, and there is no tougher task in horse racing than picking winners on the Belmont Stakes lines. We're helping you out today at BookMaker Sportsbook, as we continue breaking down all of the main contenders for this race, as we dissect the chances that these horses have in the third leg of the Triple Crown based upon the jockeys on their back.

On Saturday, June 7th at 6:30 p.m. ET, NBC will have its live television coverage of the Belmont Stakes. Eleven contenders are lined up who could claim glory that day, and they are all hoping to be the one who hits the line first and beats the Belmont Stakes lines at Belmont Park in Elmont, NY.

Even if he doesn't end up winning this race, there has to be an argument that Victor Espinoza has been the best jockey all year long on any of these three-year old horses. There's a reason that California Chrome continues to be one of the big favorites on the Belmont Stakes betting lines. He's that good of a pony, but he has been positioned incredibly well, too. Espinoza has a ton to do with that. He knows exactly when to ask for more out of his colt, and he has gotten just that. This Triple Crown would be a team effort, and Espinoza deserves a ton of credit for it.

A lot of the horses who you are familiar with are keeping to their guns and keeping their same jockeys. Jose Ortiz will once again be on Samraat, while Robby Albarado will take the mount on Medal Count for the second time here in the Triple Crown.

There are though, a lot of interesting changes which could end up playing a role on the Belmont Stakes gambling lines. John Velazquez, who is largely considered one of the better jockeys in the sport, is now riding Ride On Curlin. Joel Rosario and Calvin Borel have already had their shots aboard the big closer, and Trainer Michael Gowan might have finally found his guy.

Rosario, on his own militia, is going to be riding Tonalist, the winner of the Peter Pan Stakes. That race was the first time these two worked together, and it was something to remember. Tonalist romped that day to post a stunning 107 Beyer Speed Rating, a good number in and of itself, but a number which looks flat out phenomenal when you consider that the race was run in horrid weather.

Rosie Napravnik is back once again, though she had a hard time finding a mount for this, the third leg of the Triple Crown. She'll be aboard General a Rod, whom she rode to victory way back in his maiden victory. Napravnik hasn't gotten the call since then from Trainer Michael Maker, but she could end up being a difference maker on the Belmont Stakes wagering lines.

Mike Smith, a mainstay on the circuit, will be riding Matuszak, one of the longer shots on the board on Saturday. It would be a stunner if Smith was able to ride this pony to victory.
