MLS Betting Online: Change is a good thing, especially when it produces sparkling results on the soccer field.

A tactical alteration led to Chivas USA’s dominating 3-0 win over Houston last Saturday. The Goats gobbled up odds of +100 on the MLS wagering odds three-way action.

Robin Fraser sent out a 4-1-4-1 alignment and that provided Chivas with ample scoring opportunities. The midfield triangle allowed Nick LaBrocca and Blair Gavin to maintain possession in the center which opened up space for Justin Braun, Mike Lahoud and Jorge Flores behind the Houston defense.

The Rojiblancos used the five-man midfield attack earlier in the season but abandoned it. Why the change of heart?

“We're a little bit more mature and a little further ahead than we were at the beginning of the season,” said Fraser.

Chivas isn’t competing in the World Football Challenge or the CONCACAF Champions League tournament so August may be a good time for the club to climb the standings. The Goats desperately need a true striker in the offense and Fraser confirmed a transfer was in the works.

Chivas is currently on a five-game unbeaten run and sits sixth out West with 26 points and 6-7-8 record.

Dallas comes into this match in a testing stretch of days. The team traveled to San Salvador on Tuesday at 1:45 to play in the CONCACAF Champions League against Alianza FC at 9 p.m. on Thursday night. The Toros then flew back home at 2:45 the next day, logging nearly 3,000 air miles during the four-day excursion to Central America.

Since the Preliminary Round of the tournament is an aggregate-goal series, Hyndman may elect to sit his regulars and hope for a better result when Alianza visits the U.S. After all, the match Sunday is more pertinent to the MLS regular season results.

FCD’s most recent league match came last Saturday at New York. The Toros nearly stole three points on the road but a Thierry Henry equalizer in the 85th minute produce a ‘draw’ that paid out +210 MLS odds for bettors.

After the Toros woke up in the second half they tallied scores in the 51st and 78th minutes. This team is really playing well right now with just one loss and seven wins in its last eight outings overall. FCD is second in the MLS pecking order currently with an 11-5-6 record and 39 points. It has been the best home team with 24 points accrued in 12 matches at Pizza Hut Park.

BookMaker opened the three-way moneylines for this game at Chivas +400, Dallas -167 and Draw +250. The MLS wagering odds 2.5-goal total was weighted toward the ‘under’ at -140.
