Horse Betting Online: Rain hit the area late in the day last Wednesday, and while the main track remained “ fast ” throughout the week, horse betting handicappers did not see a race on turf until Race 11 on Saturday. The lack of racing on the grass resulted in fairly “ short ” horse betting fields, with only two races Wednesday-Friday offering ten or more starters. For the week 41 races saw an average of 7.8 starters per race. While there were eight winning horse betting favorites at even-money odds or less, the public’s choice won just 29 percent of races for the week. Thanks to eight winners between 10 / 1 and 39 / 1 horse betting odds, the average winning mutuel was $ 16.12, among the highest of all major tracks in action last week.
