NHL Betting Online: The battle on the NHL lines will be hot and heavy on Saturday, February 25th between the Tampa Bay Lightning (27-26-6) and the Pittsburgh Penguins (34-21-5). It all gets started at Consol Energy Arena in Pittsburgh, PA with the puck dropping at 1:00 ET. Live television coverage is set for the NHL Network and Sun Sports.

The Lightning and Penguins are definitely familiar with each other after last year's big time first round playoff series between the two squads. This is a very important battle on the NHL betting lines though, as these teams are both trying to fight for the playoffs in the Eastern Conference with around a third of the season left to play.

Pittsburgh knows that it isn't going to run the New York Rangers down atop the Atlantic Division, but it also knows that it is nowhere near safe at this point. There are only eight points separating the Pens and the playoffs at this point, and that is a margin that could go away in a hurry if they start to falter, knowing that there are a ton of teams in the bottom of the Eastern Conference that are gunning for playoff spots.

Tampa Bay is one of those teams. The Bolts are in fourth place in the Southeast Division, but they have won three in a row on the NHL wagering lines and are now just five points back from the Florida Panthers for the top spot in the division. They are also five back from the Toronto Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Jets for the #8 seed in the conference.

We know that the potential is here to see a lot of goals scored Saturday afternoon. Steven Stamkos is the league's leading goal scorer with 42, and he is having one of the best seasons of his career. He has paced an offense that has scored 11 goals in its last three games.

Tampa Bay's defense still ranks dead last in the league in spite of their pair of solid victorious efforts over the Washington Capitals and Anaheim Ducks. This is something that Evgeni Malkin and his 73 points for the season are going to try to exploit.

This is the second meeting of these teams in this building in less than two weeks. Pittsburgh won 4-2 on January 12th, but since that point, it is Tampa Bay that is the hotter team on the NHL wagering lines with its seven points in its last four games.
