Boxing Betting Online: Erik Morales is no longer the same fighter that once defeated Manny Pacquiao but he has the WBC light welterweight championship and will look to defend it against Danny Garcia on Saturday, March 24th, Morales, one of the top fighters in the world during his prime, is on the twilight of his career but will look to hold on for at least one more fight.
This bout was rescheduled from January 28th after Morales needed gallbladder surgery.
Erik Morales is 52-7 in his career but has lost five of his past 10 fights. He retired after a loss to David Diaz - his fourth straight - on August 4th, 2007, but came back in March of 2010.
He has won four of his five fights since the comeback and won the WBC Light Welterweight title over Pablo Cesar Cano by technical knockout in the tenth round on September 17th, 2011, his last time out. Morales defeated Manny Pacquaio on March 19th, 2005, but subsequently lost to him twice.
Danny Garcia is an up and comer at 22-0 with 14 knockouts. In his last fight, he defeated Kendall Holt in a split-decision to win the vacant NABO Light Welterweight title on November 15th, 2011. Garcia is only 23 years old and was the 2006 U.S. national champion.
Morales has the longer resume with the higher peak, but he is slowing down at age 35 while Garcia is entering his prime. Morales has fought well since his comeback and would like to hold on for one more title defense, but Garcia doesn't plan to let that happen in boxing betting.
